Chapter 30- Rescue Me

( Lewis' point of view)

The thought of Liam touching my sweet pea made my blood boil. The audacity of him to even involve Mia. I swear to God if he even touch a strand of her hair, I will f*ckin' kill him!

The confession of Uncle Martin made me realized that Liam has planned everything from the start. Liam said that we will be meeting in an abandoned building.

I don't care if it's a trap but I have to see Mia as soon as possible. I went alone but Red, Ben, Ethan and the other men will follow me as soon as I send the signal I had a secret camera inside the pocket of my leather jacket. I was also wearing a bulletproof vest cause I knew, tonight will be bloody. A tracking device was place in the sole of my right shoe.

As soon as I arrived, Liam's men groped all my pockets to check if I brought a gun. We went inside the filthy building. I saw Mia who was tied on a chair. Her eyes were red and dried tears were seen on her face.
Her arms and legs were covered with bruises. She looked tired and weak.

I said, "Liam, let Mia go! I am the one you need!"
Mia started crying while saying, "Liam, please let us go! I'm begging you!"
Liam said, "Well, this is just getting better! Mia,my princess, do you think that your idiot boyfriend can rescue you and can get you out of here alive?"
Mia cried loudly and said, "Liam please! I will do everything that you want me to do! Don't hurt Lewis! I am begging you!"

Liam laughed while saying, "Really my princess? Will you really do what I asked you to do?"
Mia answered, "YES!"

(Mia's point of view)

As soon as I saw Lewis, I felt relieved but at the same time, I was worried because something bad might happen tonight. Two men were pointing a gun on his head. I was begging Liam to let us go but he had several conditions.

I can see the anger in Lewis' eyes but we have to go with the flow because I don't want Liam to hurt us. I told Liam that I will do everything that he asked for. This pathetic excuse of a man wanted me to kiss him in front of Lewis. Tears run down my face. I was so disgusted! Lewis was shouting when I was about to kiss Liam.
He said, "NO my sweet pea, don't do it!"

Lewis hit and kicked the two men beside him. I closed my eyes and then we heard gunshots. Everything was a blur. Gunshots were heard every where. Lewis covered me with his leather jacket. Ethan said that we should go and he handed a gun to Lewis.
The silver haired man had already escaped. We were running towards Lewis car when Liam chased us. Liam managed to shoot Lewis' left leg, so that slowed us down.
I was trying to carry Lewis but I can't because aside from being exhausted, Lewis is tall and muscular. I had a hard time pulling him.

Liam was able to keep up and we were just two meters apart. While I was helping Lewis to stand up. I reached for the gun that Ethan gave him and before Liam could pull the trigger to shoot Lewis again, I shoot Liam first and I guess, the bullet went through his chest.

Lewis said, "Thank you my sweet pea!I thought I will be the one rescuing you but it turned out that you were the one who rescued me. I am proud of you! You are very brave!"

I stayed at the hospital for 5 days. My bruises were finally healed. I visited Lewis in his room and his gunshot wound was healing as well. We will be discharged soon.
I said, "How are you Superman?"
He replied, "I am fine Wonder Woman!"
He smiled and winked and implied, "You're so hot back there sweet pea!"

Liam was brought to the hospital for surgery. He survived the operation but he will be placed in a Mental Hospital because they said that he was unstable.

We went for a 2 month vacation back to Venice. I love it there and I plan to have my practice there after my surgery training. Yes! I want to be a surgeon because Lewis is prone of gun shots. Kidding aside, we want to settle there because he will soon be the Boss of the Platinum Dragons as soon his father steps down.

(Lewis' point of view)

We had everything planned for the future but God has different plans for us. I love Mia and I was hoping and praying that we'll be together forever.

We were on our way to school. It was our first day of being freshmen in College. Mia was so happy. I was holding her hand tightly the whole time and I felt the urge not to let her go. I had a feeling that something wasn't right. I called Red and Neo and gave them instructions. I also called my cousin Ethan and I left him important messages. Mia looked me in the eye and said, "Is there something wrong Superman?"

I kissed her lips and said, "No matter what happened, I will always find my way back to you sweet pea. She looked at me confused and answered," You're scaring me!"
I said in a calm voice,
"Sweet pea, our brakes are not working. I want you to take the pillow at the back seat. Get my leather jacket and wear it. Can you see the black car behind us?"
She said, "Yes!"
I said, " They were following us since we left the penthouse sweet pea!"

She panicked and cried. I told her that everything will be alright.
I said," At the count of three sweet pea, you have to open the door and jump. I know you can do it! You are strong!"
She said, "No! I am not gonna leave you!"
I answered, "Please trust me sweet pea! I love you!" Then she jumped out of the car. I hope she'll make it. I had to figure out how to get out.

(Mia's point of view)

I managed to jump as he instructed.
I watched him while he was inside the car falling off the cliff. My tears were uncontrollably falling down my face. Is this really the end? The black car stopped and checked the place where he fell. Who the hell are they? Red and Neo were there to pick me after few minutes when the accident happened.

Neo took me at the penthouse. I never heard any news about my Superman. I was so anxious cause I don't know what to do. Airy and Devan visited me as soon as they heard what had happened. Ben (Lewis' father's second in command) flew from Italy. They checked Lewis' car and they said that he didn't survive the crash! I was numb! My bright world turned into darkness.

Few weeks had passed. I barely eat and sleep. I can't even accept that he's gone. He said he'll find his way back to me and I trust him! His parents wanted to give him a proper burial in Italy. I didn't attend the funeral because they can't even find his body.
I cherish everything that we had.

For now, everything was just a bittersweet memory but in my heart I know that we're far from over! I will find you my Superman! We'll be together again soon!
