Just A Bittersweet Memory

Chapter 29- Ready to face the World

(Mia's point of view)

In a few minutes, I will be giving my graduation speech. I was so nervous and excited at the same time. Our families were also here. My hands were sweating, then Lewis said, "You can do it my sweet pea!" He gave me sweet soft kisses on my forehead.

This is it! I took a deep breath and said, "Umm, Dear Families, Friends and Faculty Members. Thank you very much for the opportunity that you've given me today. I was tasked to inspire you, make you cry and laugh as we part our ways. The truth is, all of you were my inspiration in order to achieve what I have today. I am just an ordinary girl who usually do not exist on any aspect of your lives.We all have our own strengths, skills and talents that we have to nurture.
I am here in front of you as a fruit of my hard work and patience. I give credit to our teachers, who were very supportive in all of my activities and
my friends, who got my back when I needed them the most. I also thank my family, for doing their best so that I can fulfill my dreams. Most of all, I thank God, for giving me, my Superman, my Lewis, who accepted my flaws and loves me for who I am. The bottom line of this speech is that, despite the trials and difficulties that we might encounter on our journey, let us be ready to face the world and be strong enough, for this is just the beginning of a new chapter of our lives."Congratulations Batch 2020!"

After graduation, we went out to celebrate with our family and friends. We were talking about our plans for College. After the celebration Lewis and I, returned at the penthouse while our families stayed in the hotel.

We just cuddled and talked about our future plans. He said, "I love you sweet pea and I want to be with you forever. If the time comes that we have to part ways, remember that I will always find my way back to you." I kissed his lips and answered, "You can't get rid of me easily Superman.
I will also find my way back to you!"

Few days after graduation, I was still working at the cafe. I already filed for a two month leave. We planned a vacation with our families.

When I was on my way to the penthouse, a man in a black car grabbed me. The man hit me on my head and I felt dizzy then I loss my consciousness. I don't know why I always attract trouble but I believe that my Superman will find me.

When I opened my eyes, I was tied on a chair. I saw the man with a silver hair standing in front of me. The same man whom I saw during the Masquerade Charity Gala and the one who was talking with someone over the phone.
I said, "What do you want from me?" He replied, " I want you to call your stupid boyfriend to come alone and get you!"

I answered, "What do you want from him?"
He said, "Your little boyfriend and his father are always meddling with my business. I want both of them dead!"
I answered, "What made you think that I will call him for you?".
He slapped me and said, "Oh b*tch! You will call him or else, I will kill you!"
I replied, "I'd rather die than let him sacrifice himself for me!".

Another man entered the room. I heard a familiar voice saying, "Princess, can you just cooperate?"
To my surprise, my pupils dilated and I shouted, "What the hell Liam?
What are you doing here? Why are you working for him?"
Liam answered, "Wow! Too many questions my princess!".

The silver haired man said that he is the real father of Liam because Liam's mom was already pregnant before she met Mr. Martin Vega. Liam told me that he was jealous of Lewis because his step father Martin, also considered Lewis as his other son. Lewis' father and Martin were also like brothers.

I said, "This is madness Liam! Why don't you just let me go? We're friends!please help me!"
Liam answered, "The moment you chose Lewis over me, it made me realized that I can't be friends with you again princess but if I can't have you, he can't have you too!"
He kissed me on my lips but I bit him.

(Lewis' point of view)

Mia was already late for 2 hours. She usually arrives at our penthouse before 7pm. I was beginning to worry. Out of all days, why did she have to leave her phone and her golden heart locket necklace right now? I told her to wait for me but she insists of going home alone. I called her friends if they had seen her but they had no idea where she was.

I knew I have to act fast so I called my dad for help. He said he'll send some of his men. Red and Neo will be here in few minutes. After an hour, Liam called me and he wanted to meet me somewhere within an hour because he said that he was with Mia. He sent me his location. I thought he just wanted a petty fight but involving Mia was a different story. I thought that this was just a teenage love triangle but there's more to it.

I called Uncle Martin and asked if he knew something about Liam and he told me that Liam was his adopted son because his wife was already pregnant with another man when they got married. Uncle Martin said he had no idea why Liam was acting that way. He said that he was just obsessed with Mia. I asked Neo to do a background check on Liam and to review his wereabouts.
To my surprise, Liam was the rat all along. He was working with our rival.
He was working with the Silver Snakes!
