Black Jackals: First Away Games

After a few days of their first away games, Kiyoomi Sakusa really wanted his own room. Every teammate he had roomed with was unacceptable, except for one.

Compared to the other energetic teammates, Atsumu Miya was the calmest of the bunch. Koutaro Bokuto was loud while sleeping and awake, Shoyo Hinata had a bad habit of tossing too much and sleep talking, mostly about Kageyama, who he swore he wasn't dating.

Sakusa had managed to only make it through one night with each teammate, refusing to share a room again. The first time he roomed with Atsumu he was pleasantly surprised at how quickly he fell asleep and didn't talk his ear off before bed or when they woke up.

Atsumu kept to his side of the room cleaner than Sakusa imagined, with only a few spare clothing items left on his bed and a bag of toiletries on the right side of the counter in the bathroom. This was ideal for Sakusa, since he preferred to keep his belongings on the left side of everything.

After the first night Sakusa went to their Coach and requested that he be roomed with Atsumu for the foreseeable future.

Atsumu was dumbfounded when he heard that he was being placed with Sakusa a second night. The man could barely tolerate him during practice, why on earth were they stuck rooming together again?

"I thought Omi-Omi didn't like rooming with me..." Atsumu says out loud, staring at his locker as they pack up after practice.

"What?" Hinata laughs. "No, he hated rooming with me and Bokuto. He said it was because we are too noisy, but he never said a word about you. When I asked him how he slept last night, he just shrugged his shoulders."

"So him not saying anythin' was a good thing?" Atsumu paused, holding his jersey in his hand. "Huh...well, I guess that's good. I liked sleepin' with him last night." He pulls on his clean shirt and shuts the locker.

"Ohhhh...." Bokuto chimes in as he pokes his head around the corner, his eyebrows speaking more than his actual mouth.

"Shut up...ya' know that's not what I meant!" Atsumu laughs, shoving the last of his clothes in his bag. "See ya guys tomorrow."

"Night Tsum-Tsum....give Omi-kun a kiss for me!" Bokuto makes kissy noises.

"As long as yer give one to Akaashi!" Atsumu laughs, watching the multicolored hair man blush as the small ginger laughs beside him.

Sakusa was waiting outside the locker room when Atsumu walked out laughing. Had he overheard their conversation? Was he upset? Atsumu smiles as he approaches his Spiker.

"Ya' waited for me Omi-Omi?" He says, stopping about 30 cm away, watching the smile faid on the taller man's face, but a faint blush remains.

Shit...he probably heard us, Atsumu gulps.

"Yeah...is that alirght?" Sakusa says, walking towards the exit.

"Of course it is," Atsumu laughs catching up to his teammate, walking parallel with him, making sure to keep a comfortable distance. He knew that Sakusa had Mysophobia and respected the mans boundaries, even if he tried to test out the line that separated them a few times, but never crossed it.

Atsumu's twin brother Osamu had repeatedly reminded him to be aware of his teammates personal spaces.

His old Captain Kita had also managed to drill into his subconscious that keeping things clean and organized was beneficial to others. Atsumu was thankful for having people bestow such knowledge, even if he sometimes forgot it.

Right now it's coming in quite handy, Atsumu smiles as they bicker all the way back to their hotel room.

The elevator was a little more crowded than they anticipated, holding 7 people. Atsumu and Sakusa took the back corner, Atsumu held out his arm in front of Sakusa so no one could bump into him.

Sakusa kept his eyes on Atsumu as they patiently waited for the other people to exit the elevator. Why is he protecting me?

"Sorry Omi-Omi...I didn't think it would be this crowded," Atsumu smiles, his eyes focused on the floor screen, revealing each floor they passed.

"...it's fine..." Sakusa smiles. "I know it's not your fault."

"But if we had left on time then..."

"Miya..."

Atsumu can feel the warmth of Sakusa's strong hand on his shoulder, as he slowly turns to the masked man next to him.

"I said it's fine," Sakusa gentry squeezes him, removing his mask, smiling...

Wait...why is he touching me? Why is he smiling? Atsumu is baffled, but happy by this gesture. Sakusa had voluntary touched him and smiled.

Atsumu can feel the smile and blush emulating across his face.

Sometimes, when no one else was around, Sakusa did the most unexpected things.

It made Atsumu want to see more.
