"How long you been fuckin' Roman, Riles?" Dave asked as I walked in the house.
"EXCUSE ME?!" I exclaimed, pretending to be surprised.
"Man, you fuckin' heard me, Riley. How long you been fucking my teammate?"
"Ugh, you're drunk. Go to bed. You got practice in a few hours."
"DAMMIT RILEY!!! FUCKIN' ANSWER ME!"
"I'm not fucking, Roman, okay? Jesus Christ, Dave. What the fuck is wrong with you?"
"Do I look stupid to you, Riley? You and him sneaking around my got damn house like mice!"
"I mean, if it were true you could at least be grateful we're quiet," I shrugged. "Right?"
"Riley, stop fuckin' playing wi--"
"Its four in the morning, Dave. Go to bed. You've got practice in a few hours."
That Afternoon...
"Hey, baby," I smiled as I walked into Roman's bedroom. "How was practice?"
"It was alright," he sighed. "Your brother had a weird day though. Dropping the ball, forgetting where to be, forgetting the plays. Then he went off on me in the locker room because I asked if he was good."
"Shit," I whispered.
"AYO, ROMEY ROME!" Dave shouted from downstairs.
"YEAH?" Roman replied as he poked his head out of the bedroom.
"My bad, man. About practice earlier!! Let me take you to get some drinks, man. Me and a couple of the guys are going to the... strip club."
"He knows," we both whispered.
"So, let's just go tell him," Roman said.
"No, I wanna see how low down he's gonna get about this. Just go, act like everything is normal."
"Riley, are you fuckin' serious? I'm tired of this game. We should have told him from the beginning."
"Oh, shut the fuck up. The issue isn't you, the issue is him. He thinks I'm a child or something and I'm not. This isn't the first time he's tried to sabotage something I got going on because the nigga I was doing what I was doing with was on his team. He's gotta learn."
"And how do you plan to teach him said lesson?"
"I'm going to pack my shit and demand my inheritance from him so I can move out."
"Really? Riley, I don't want to be in the middle of no family shit."
"Just go to the fuckin' strip club, Ro. Please."
He let out a heavy sigh and walked downstairs to meet Dave. I walked over to my bedroom and pulled out my suitcases from the back of my closet. One by one, I filled them and took them down to my truck. I knew I couldn't take everything, but I was going to take enough to get my point across. I was tired of being controlled by Dave. When I dated someone he didn't know, he stalked them and if I dated someone he did know, he'd act funny towards them. Just like he was doing with Roman.
I put my last duffel bag in the truck of my car and drove all the way to Kansas City and booked a room at the Westin for two weeks. I brought the important bags up to my room and decided to take a nap for a few hours.
"RILEY!"
I jumped awake to when I heard Dave beating down my room door. I growled and slowly got out of bed to go answer the door.
