the heart he ate

She carried a three years old, on her tired back
The boy asked for food, when they don't even have a snack
Got nothing to feed, nowhere to go, it was bad luck
So the mother came up with a different tack

She fed her son her heart
Her breath hitched, started to drift apart
Before she took her last breath she said
"Now you have my heart, so you must be strong
The journey ahead is tough and long"

It was time for the boy to face his fate
To pay the price for the heart he ate
But was it his fault? Should he carry the weight?
The load of the heart, his mother donate.
Watching his mom from heaven's gate
In a cold night, for a miracle he awaits

He wanted his mother more than gold and diamond
He would sell his soul, just to hold her hand
He was hungry for her, never wanted something so bad
Like a tear dropped in an ocean,
A scattered sand
No matter how hard he tried he couldn't get her back

From all the things in the world, he wanted her by his side
She was the world to him, his strength and pride

Left with no one to grant his wish
That was his rock bottom, He was caught in a leash

Should he live and be strong, for the sake of his mother's heart
Or should he knock on heaven's door, to return her missing part
