Falling Hard

This poem was inspired by Scrat, the fictional saber-toothed squirrel from the Ice Age films😅😅
I hope you enjoy.

Love teaches us a lesson, to let things go
I surrendered my every thing, as our love grew
Like the movies, our song played on the radio
And suddenly, all I see was you surrounded by your halo

The smile on your lips
The way you sway your hips

The way you bat your eyelashes
By the sight of you, my heart crushes

I was falling, falling hard
My heart bare, without a guard

But I was the only one falling
You were up above me flying

I landed with a loud thud
Pain overwhelming me, like a flood

Yes, My heart scattered
But My love never faltered
