"Rav?"
What is he doing here at this hour? And why is he with Nath? Prince Delvin told me that the pixies are either in hiding or traitors of the Kingdom. Rav's eyes looked different, he seem distant. Nath flew directly inside my door, my gaze followed her as Rav suddenly stepped inside, closing the door shut behind him and I heard the lock click. His expression torn. The way he would look whenever we had a big argument.
"Rav, what is this all about? And why are you with a pixie? What's going on?" I asked him as he closed the distance between us and hugged me tight. I stood there, unable to move and confused by his behaviour. His breathing uneven as if his every breath hurt.
"Give me a minute Blaine. They took you away from us. Away from me"
I couldn't understand what he's talking about but I hugged him back. The way I would whenever he needed comfort. After a few more moments, he stepped back and crouched to look at me straight in the eyes.
"What did they told you? Lennox was so mad at me when he found out that you didn't reach the Kingdom." he's still talking in riddles I couldn't understand. What is my best friend talking about? Why is he acting like this?
"What are you talking about Rav? I reached the Kingdom safely." He looked up and took a deep breath, putting his hands over his head.
He's frustrated, I can see that quite very well. He sat down on my bed and motioned for me to sit beside him. I did, my eyes wandered around to look for Nath. I saw her sitting on the bedside table looking at us. Like a sheen on top of a furniture.
"You weren't supposed to go to El Suelo. Naka plano na ang lahat para sa pag dating mo sa La Bahia, kung saan naghihintay ang lahat sa'yo. That day you went inside the passage, kami dapat ang susundo sa'yo. Not Niña. But their guards attacked us, blocking out our path. I saw you got inside the carriage that led you to El Suelo and I couldn't do anything about it because I was so preoccupied fighting back." He took a deep breath again, calming himself down.I furrowed at what he just said.
"Wait, that doesn't make sense. You didn't tell me anything about going inside the passage yourself. And what's wrong with me going with Niña? Bakit hindi dapat ako nakarating sa El Suelo?" His eyes looked torn and hurt. I couldn't help but feel pissed and confused. I'm so sick of all the secrets.
"Listen, okay?" I just nodded, still frowning. "From the very start, I knew who you really are. That you're a Princess in El He Chizo. The Kingdom where I grew up. It's not true that I'm an orphan, Blaine. My father was the King's guard and my mother served the Queen, and I was assigned to train your siblings. The King and Queen gave me a new assignment and that is to watch over you and protect you from any kind of harm. I have trained with Quallie and Lennox, but I have never once seen their little Princess. You were born here in the Philippines. That's why they paid for my education here. I left La Belleza El Tierra and went here to protect you. The King and Queen was waiting for the right time to tell you everything. They prepared you physically for what's about to come, but I knew that they haven't prepared you emotionally. I watched you grew up into a strong young girl, but I knew that you're fragile when it comes to your emotions Blaine." My heart raced frantically inside my chest. His words echoed over and over inside my head. Hearing this from him hurt.
"You lied to me? I thought we're not keeping secrets from each other! All this time, alam mo ang lahat? I was so scared to leave everything behind! I thought you're my best friend." I was almost screaming now. My breathing heavy and fast. Tears were threatening to fall and I took a deep breath to calm myself down. Not wanting to shed any tears.
