I slumped on the ground breathing heavily and fixed my eyes at the clear blue sky right above me. I could hear the loud clashing of swords, arrows sailing towards the targets, the laughter and teasing of the soldiers all around me. I decided to skip my walking classes with Sudie and join our soldiers with their training.
This is my fourth day in El He Chizo and I've never felt so alive. This is where I belong, in the training grounds where I can be who I am and somehow forget about my petty feelings. There can never be room for failure this time. I need to focus on the upcoming war.
Stefan sat beside me and looked down with a grin on his face making me roll my eyes. We've been sparring for more than an hour and I feel so tired but judging from his expression, he still has a lot of energy within him. I closed my eyes and let my mind drift back to Delvin.
Kaya ayokong pumunta kay Sudie, because I would just end up spacing out. But here I am. Wondering if we would ever see each other again. I'll be at the infirmary when the war begins so it's impossible for me to see him. Will he come here again? I doubt that. I've pushed him away so many times now. He probably hates me.
"Ano'ng sabi mo?" Stefan said making me look at him with my brows frowned.
"You kept on mumbling something."
"I was?" I don't remember mumbling. Stefan looked at me with a weird expression on his face.
"Nakakatakot ka naman, ganyan ba talaga pag talo? Wag kang mag alala sa susunod hindi ko na masyadong gagalingan para manalo ka naman." I glared my eyes at him earning a laugh that made Rav and Kaye glance at our way.
They're the only pair that's the closest to where we are kaya sila lang rin ang nakatingin saamin. Rav's looking at me, his eyes questioning the situation. I just gave him a wave and glanced back at Stefan who now has a crazy grin on his face.
"What was I mumbling about?"
I heard Kaye shout making me look at their way again. Rav is holding his bleeding arm with a serious look on his face. Kaye shook her head with a small smile on her face and mouthed the words 'distracted'. I raised my brows, confused because Rav has never been distracted when he's training but maybe he's pressured because of the war.
"Ano nga?" I asked Stefan once more. He pinched my nose and I quickly slapped his hand away making him smile wider.
"Kaya nga ako nagtatanong kanina diba? Kasi hindi ko naintindihan" I rolled my eyes at his answer while Stefan just laughed it off. Unconsciously, I stared at the forest that's located a few meter away from us. Where I saw the second Prince last night. Stefan snapped his finger right in front of my face making me frown at him.
"Distracted masyado ah?" He teased while moving his brows up and down.
"Why can't there be a trial?" I asked him.
This war can't possibly be the only solution to provide justice. It's not because I don't think we can win but I highly think that we should at least let our first move be peaceful. And a fair trail should at least suffice but ate told me that royal families cannot be taken to trails. Why? Can't the royalties make mistakes and commit crimes?
"Ay 'yan pala ang dahilan ba't ka distracted? Akala ko pa naman dumiskarte na si loverboy." I frowned because he's not making any sense.
