A few meters away from where I'm standing, a blueish light shimmered.
"Nath?"
Upon hearing my voice, the light slowly went towards my way making it clear for me to see Nath's small body, wearing a different small white dress. She's smiling at me widely as if seeing each other at midnight is totally normal.
After the silver door incident, I immediately went inside my room and took a long warm shower to clear my thoughts up, getting ready to sleep since the day was already coming to an end when I stepped out of it. I laid on my bed for a good few hours, wailing myself to shut my mind down and sleep. But it didn't. So I went out for a breath of fresh air and saw Nath, fluttering above the entire Kingdom in a fast pace.
"Princesa, why are you still awake? Today has been a very long day for everyone." Her small and soft voice seem to radiate a warm feeling, similar to the sunshine. I gave her a weak smile and said,
"I can't sleep Nath." When I lifted a hand in front of me, she quickly flew right on top of it and hugged my thumb, sending a warm feeling right through me.
"Are you worried about the upcoming war?" I avoided her small beady eyes and took a deep breath. I can't stop thinking about what Reese have told me. This is what I was worried about. Some of my questions has been answered, but it seems like there's so much more I need to know now.
"I'm worried about everything Nath." I could hear the soft rustling of the trees below us. The soft wind blew, making me shiver. Tonight's exceptionally cold out here in El He Chizo.
"Everything deserves be worried about" I glanced at Nath and saw that she's now smiling at me. Her eyes glimmering over the moonlight. She flew up from my hand and stopped in front of my face, glowing even more faintly making it easier for me to see her clearly. She looks so familiar yet, I cannot pinpoint why.
"It's totally normal to feel worried Princesa. Especially with our situation. Losing this war doesn't only mean we lost the opportunity to serve justice for the death of the King and Queen. Losing this war would mean that the deaths of everyone who would fight alongside us and their efforts would be in vain. The destruction that this war would bring would be all for nothing if we lose. So, how can we not worry?" At that moment, I was tempted to run straight towards the chambers of Ate Emm and beg her to stop this madness. A coward. Yes I am. But if being a coward would also mean that our people would be free from the suffering and pain that this war would result, then they can hang me for being a coward.
"I've met Reese. The pixie that protects the well of Resdelazon. She answered the questions that have been hunting me ever since I knew the truth about my real identity." Nath looked shocked at my confession. Her beady eyes reflected something I haven't seen in her before. Fear.
"Reese. Reese. Reese Coldwell." She said, over and over again. Her wings fluttering in a really fast pace as it glowed brighter and brighter making me squint my eyes.
"Is something wrong Nath?" She's acting weird and she's never been like this before. She stopped panicking and flew closer to my face, making me take a step back.
"Reese Coldwell cannot be trusted Princesa. She's been exiled. Her words mean nothing." Nath's soft voice quivered. She's talking in a really fast tone and continued fluttering forward, making me take a few steps back just so we wouldn't bump into each other.
"Why? Why was she exiled? Is that why she's now living inside that well?" Nath shook her head almost immediately, panic and fear reflecting from her eyes. The wind around us suddenly turned stagnant and cold. Her warmth completely gone.
