JJ Maybank- Imagine

"Hey Sarah I brought the jewelry you wanted!" I yell as I step into the house and put the bag on a counter. The house stays quiet and I wonder where my best friend is.
"Hey beautiful." Someone mumbles in my ear and I let out a small shriek.
I turn around and am greeted with Rafe's smile. I push his shoulder annoyed by his behavior making him laugh.
"I missed you too asshole." I say and he grabs my wrist softly pulling me in for a hug.
Rafe and I are on pretty good terms most of the time which annoys the hell out of Sarah but I think Rafe deserves someone who genuinely cares for him.
I know how Sarah's father can be and it's obvious that Rafe is always seeking for his approval and attention.
"How you doing?" He asks me as we both part.

"I'm okay not really thrilled for tonight." I say shrugging my shoulders.
With tonight I mean the small celebration of the kooks and with not really thrilled I mean I hate to go there.
But my parents want me there and who would I be to disappoint daddy. If he knew how little I shared their believes and this whole kooks stay with kooks and pogues with pogues crap. It's fucking ridiculous in my opinion.
"I don't think anyone is thrilled for that gathering, Summer."

"I know, I know but can't we just pack our things and leave?" I look up at him and a smile stretches on to his lips. He knows that sentence I offered him many times to leave outer banks even though I know he'd never leave. Yes we get along but we don't have the same opinion regarding the pogues and the rich lifestyle.
"I could get you something to relax and have a little fun." He says pulling a small back of weed out of his pants. My eyes widen and I push his hand back into his pocket.
"Are you fucking serious Rafe if you're father sees that!" I whisper yell and look around the hall but we're still alone.
"Come on you know he wouldn't care, he knows it." He says a hard look on his face when he talks about his father.
"That doesn't mean you should walk around offering drugs you idiot! You know I hate it anyways." I tell him and he nods giving me an apologetic look.
"Are you stealing my best friend again?" I jump when I hear Sarah behind us.
She steps up beside me grabbing my wrist and the bag on the counter while she pulls me up the stairs.
"Get your own friends and leave mine." She says and I turn around while she drags me up the stars mouthing a small sorry towards him.
He waves me off and leaves through the front door.
"There was no need to be that rude." I tell her.
She gives me a crazy look. "Yes there was but you know the rule no talking about my brother." I sigh and nod while we step into her room.
When Sarah notices that I and Rafe did get along she made up some rules for me to follow.

1. No talking about Rafe when we're together
2. Don't talk to Rafe while Sarah is with me
3. Try to not talk to Rafe at all

Yeah rule three is bullshit but the rest isn't hard to handle.
"I still need to do your hair and makeup you didn't even try to come here presentable."
I look down at myself and furrow my brows. It's not like I don't look presentable I just don't look like Sarah wants me to. Which is okay because her style is the one that my mom wants me to wear at the party.
Sarah pushes me down onto the chair in front of her make up table and starts to brush my hair.
"How can you be so excited and giddy about it all. I'm struggling with needing to throw up when I just think about it."

"Maybe it's not the party I'm happy about." She bites her lip and a dreamy look makes it's way onto her face.
"Then what is?" I ask her while I look at the earrings she layed out for me.
My face scrunches up in distaste, the earrings are all flowers or thin golden hoops ew.
"Not what who."

"Wait you got back together with Topper?" I ask her turning around. She shakes her head no and I let out a relieved sigh. I never liked this guy.
"It's someone else..but you can't tell anyone yet." She whispers while she puts a tie in the back to hold the braid she did on my hair.
