"Natalee."
"Alex."
"I'm taking her away from here the moment she wakes up."
"You can't do that!"
"Why not?"
"Because she's my daughter too!"
"As far as I'm concerned, you haven't been a mother to her for a long time."
"What's that supposed to mean!"
"I don't think that criticizing her weight and her looks and every little thing she does as being very motherly."
"I've given her everything she could want."
"Including sleeping with your boss?"
"You told me you wouldn't be home!"
"So that gives you rights to bring him into our home? Into our bed?"
"I love him! He loves me."
"Which is exactly why I'm taking Caroline away. She deserves to at least be with a faithful guardian."
"I cannot believe you would do this."
"And I can't believe you would sleep with your freaking boss."
"I only did it because you had been leaving me alone. Working late nights and leaving me to care for our unhappy teenage daughter."
"I was working on getting the promotion I deserved! And I did. I got it Natalee."
"You... you got it?"
"I did. But wait... you knew?"
"Knew what?"
"About Caroline being unhappy?"
"Oh. Yes, I did."
"Did you know about..."
"I saw them when we were shopping. I couldn't understand why."
"I found her doing it one night. I'll never forget the frightened look on her face when I opened the door."
"Did she say anything?"
"She started to cry and told me I wouldn't understand. I did what any confused father would do. I helped her bandage them up and held her as she cried."
"Oh. When I noticed them... I didn't even ask her about it. I couldn't bare to."
"Natalee... this doesn't change anything. I'm still taking her away."
Bows her head and nods. "We'll talk later."
