Lights Down Low - MAX fr Gnash
The soothing sound echoes the large room, trancing the musician back to a moment of a peacemind space to the sound of the violin.
There's not a time where Taehyung plays and he doesn't feel the yearning music shrivel through his body of the melody he constructs. The music sheet became nonexistent, only the music in his mind as he plays it with the instrument.
By this point, not by choice.
It's been three hours of Taehyung practicing the same song, and he hasn't stopped practicing.
His fingers are sore and most likely cut from pressing down on the strings, his neck aching and arms tired, but the sharp look on his mother's face instantly pushes those aches away by force.
He can't stop until she satisfied.
Until she hears perfection.
Just as he was mid through the song, his mother raised a hand, signaling him to stop.
Immediately Taehyung goes into a rest position, spine straight and head up as he waits for what she has to say with lips sealed.
And of course it was never something good.
"You're rushing, the sound doesn't sound crisp or clear, more muffled. You have to stay focused!" She remarks coldly and stuff, feline eyes gazing at Taehyung in almost a sneer, "How do you expect to be a good musician if you don't even try to listen to the music-"
A knock on the door snaps their attention and disturbs the lecture, both pair of eyes looking to the large door to see Minho awkwardly standing there. Clearly he was let in by the maid, but obvious not at a good time.
He looks between the two, settling his gaze more towards Taehyung.
"I'm sorry, bad timing? The get together is starting soon."
That's bullshit because their movie night is in an two hours, but Taehyung knows Minho did this for the sake of his rescue.
They know if it was for Taehyung's mother, he would be here all day and night practicing.
It's not like he's a bad mom, just a perfectionist.
Thankfully Taehyung's mother doesn't hate Minho, more so is very fond of him actually, so she sighs heavily and looks at Taehyung.
"Right, the movie night you mentioned," She mutters and gets to get feet from the chair, easing down the caresses of her dressed pants, "Well, I'll let you get to it then. I'll stay over Sana's place for the night while you kids.... Just don't burn the house down."
And with that she pecks Taehyung's cheek and goes to the door, ruffling with Minho's hair on the way out.
This is usually Taehyung's routine for the weekends. He stays at the dorms but always visits his mom, in this mansion like house, where he practices most of the time. Thankfully it's not far away from the school, so Minho can easily find his way here.
And he always comes to Taehyung's rescue.
Taehyung shags his shoulders, breaking a smiles as Minho grins widely while skipping towards him, wrapping his arms around his waist while slightly lifting him into the air in a tight hug.
"You practically saved my life," Taehyung sighs tiredly, dropping his weight on Minho as the other held onto his exhausted body, "I'm in pain."
"Because you overwork yourself too much, especially your mom with her pressuring," Minho cooes as he pulls away, grabbing Taehyung's face and pecking his lips, "Come, we got the place to ourselves and I'm take care of you."
