Leave a Light On - Tom Walker

The air is chilly, probably a bit more colder than how it was earlier but thankfully not unbearable to wander around outside, despite the coldness if the snow.

There's two boys in blind folds, guided by their significant others through the parking lot and down a pathway, clearly not knowing where the fuck they're going. However the trust they have for Lucas and Taehyung was enough to be blinded and know that they will be safe no matter what.

"I swear if I trip again, I'm taking you down with me," Seokjin scowls when he trips while going up the staircase, gripping tightly onto Lucas's arm.

Minho chuckles through his blindness as he follows Taehyung with their linked arms up the stairs. It was a bit of a surprise for Taehyung to suddenly ask Minho to go out, dressed up, and let's not forget blinded.

At first Minho was hesitant only because he assumed it was Tigresa pretending to be Taehyung, but he went with his heart and hoped that this isn't some sadistic joke. Luckily when he heard Jin and Lucas's voices while being blindfolded he relaxed, knowing he was more so safe.

Suddenly Jin squeaks when he trips again and Lucas glares at him, standing there for a moment before scooping Jin up bridal style up the fucking stairs instead.

"I can walk you fucking Lion!"

Lucas bites Jin's cheek instead, making the other squeal with a hand slap on Lucas's chest, but evidently smiling as his boyfriend carries him up the stairs.

And thankfully they were too far from their destination.

Taehyung slams a finger to his lips once they arrived up, making everyone shut the fuck up but that was the cue for Yeosang to turn on light house.

Thankfully there was something over the light so it wouldn't exactly blind their vision, but still glows a beautiful light, along with the decorated fairy lights by the edges of the windows was enough for this dark night.

Taehyung smiles widely and glances at Lucas, who puts Jin down and nods back at him excitedly, counting quietly before yanking their blindfolds off.

"SURPRISE!"

Jin practically jumps on Lucas again, screaming from the sudden voices while Minho's jaw dropped, a wide smile on his lips with eyes widen to the lighthouse.

The familiar lighthouse.

With all of their friends here, smiling brightly and excitedly while Jimin stands there holding a birthday cake coated in strawberries. He walks up to both of them, the candles lit up and ready for the two to blow it out as he smiles widely at the two.

"You're getting old and that's disgusting," Jimin teases, making Jin roll his eyes but send a smile to Minho, who equally smiles back as they two get into a side hug while staring at the candles together.

While their friends sang for them.

"Happy birthday to you."

Everything slowed down in time, only focusing on this moment, where no one was angry or upset. But they all shared one happiness for the most precious people of their group.

"Happy birthday to you."

In a abandoned lighthouse they all are here, letting the light glow to each of their smiling faces. A light house where they feel safe. Where they found themselves together for this special moment in time.

With the people they can call family.

"Happy Birthday Seokjin and Minho."

Despite the pain caused from the past and to the present, this is the time where they feel something close to gratitude. Through the fights for survival, depression, bullying, drug abuse family problems many have went through, they realize that if they have given up then they wouldn't be here now.

Maybe this light represents more than the eye shows; Their place to hide, and a place to feel free from the world.

A guide to what truly matters to them.

"Happy Birthday to you."

With a tighter hug between the two birthday boys, they blow out their candles together.

Blowing away their pain, surrounded by the people they truly care about, and light up their life like this lighthouse with something they all desperately crave and need.

Something both boys wished for.

Love and a family, to be strong like how it is now.

Together.

I was kinda crying while writing this. It's very short but......It just hits......

It reminds me almost like a safe haven for someone, you know.

And the song just connects to this moment very well.
