It was prom night. After spending seven hours listening to people rave about their excitement, and admire each other's hair and nails, Elizabeth grew bored of hearing it. All until she got home. There were only a few hours to get ready, and she had to get ready separate from Justin. Who had decided to get ready in the spare room.

Sofia was probably more excited than Elizabeth was. And as soon as Elizabeth was out of the shower and in her robe, Sofia was sat at the vanity waiting to do her makeup. Elizabeth sat in the chair opposite her, waiting for the spray of primer to hit her face. "So, are you excited?"

"Nervous. I'm not sure what Justin will say about my dress." She admitted. Sofia rolled her eyes and laughed.

"You're gorgeous, and I know how much he adores you." Sofia whispered, as Justin was in the other room. "Now, close your eyes." Elizabeth did as she was told, closing her eyes. Sofia's makeup was always flawless, so she was hoping hers would be the same.

"Why did you want to do my makeup?" Elizabeth asked, looking at Sofia as she was tapping the brush on the edge of the palette. Closing her eyes again instinctively.

"I only have a son, who's 23. So I've never had a daughter to do makeup with, or doll up." She spoke, there was a disappointing tone evident. "But I can finally do it." Elizabeth smiled, as Sofia had finished and grabbed her hands to help her up. She caught a glimpse of herself and was taken aback, completely shocked at how amazing she looked. "Now for your dress!"

Elizabeth was finally ready, her hair tightly tied to emphasise her cheekbones. Her makeup complimenting her face beautifully. And she strutted down the stairs in her extremely high heels to meet Justin, who stood by the door with his jaw to the floor. With a nervous chuckle, he reached out for her hand. Which she accepted. He had a black button down shirt, a white blazer, and black pants. With smart shoes. A small silver chain hung from his neck and he wore a bright smile.

"You look amazing," he whispered to her, as they posed for the pictures her father was taking. "If your dad weren't here, I probably would've cried." Elizabeth chuckled and waved at her father and Sofia as the entered the car to drive to the hall. The prom was at a hall close to the school.

"Is this what it's going to look like for our wedding? You in a white dress, absolutely gorgeous, and making me cry?" He asked rhetorically, grabbing her hand. He admired her small, slender fingers, the small nails at the end of each one. And her rings shining brightly.

"You look really handsome, and look at us, we accidentally matched." She added, pulling down the sun visor and checking on her makeup. Still intact.

As they arrived at the hall, Justin had parked and assisted her out of the car. They linked arms and entered the building, hearing the music playing and students dancing and chattering. He led her to a small table, sitting down beside her and taking in her features. "You're so beautiful."

"Thank you, J." She whispered back to him. Soon enough, Clay, Ani, and the rest of her friends had slowly come in. And she found herself dancing with all of her friends, to whatever music played. And everything felt right.
