Zach: So how was your first day?

Yeah, it was okay. Your friends make me feel uncomfortable though. Sorry :/

Zach: Me too.

Elizabeth arrived at school, locking her car and clutching her keys tightly in her hand as she entered the hallway. Pushing past people to get to her locker,  she tried to remember her combination and unlocking it. Pushing books in and out of the small, confined locker, she carried her Calculus book down the hallway, eventually crossing paths with Zach's friends again. She unfortunately fell unlucky when she caught eyes with one of them, making it harder to walk away.

"Not so tough now, huh?" Monty teased, approaching her. Invading her personal space, until he was forced back. By the boy she only said one thing to, she couldn't remember his name for the life of her. Struggling to think as they made eye contact.

"Piss off, Montgomery." He hissed, Monty stepping back with his hands held up in surrender. "Sorry about him," he apologised, his hand grazing her arm. She was wearing a summer dress, so the bare touch of his fingertips on her arm made her tingle.

"Thanks," she paused, making a face for him to finish her sentence for her.

"Justin?" He finished. "The only thing you said to me yesterday was 'I know' in response to me telling you my name. And you forget it?" He chuckled, watching the group wander off with Monty. Leaving only her and Justin.

"I'm so sorry, I'm good with faces, not names." She spoke, walking alongside him down the hall. "I didn't mean to offend you." He looked down, a grin plastered onto his face.

"You didn't offend me," he had paused, making reference to what she had done to him only moments ago.

"Elizabeth; well there's a lot of things you can call me." She mentioned, an arm sliding around her shoulders.

"How does 'hot stuff' sound?" The disgusting tone of Bryce made her shiver and stop in her tracks. Justin had gotten in front of him, a next to nothing height difference between them.

"Fuck off, Bryce." He whispered, lowly. Bryce had eventually backed off, leaving them two alone once again. They had a long walk to Calculus, as she knew Math was on a separate floor. "As you were saying; your many other nicknames?"

"Oh right; well, Elizabeth has a lot of shorts. Like 'El' or 'Ellie' or 'Liz' or 'Liza' or 'Beth'. My old friends used to call me 'Betsy'." She explained. "My dad calls me mija, and everyone at my old school used to think that was my name." She laughed, reminiscing about New York.

"Mija? What does that mean?" Justin asked, curiously, turning to face her. She had tanned skin, long eyelashes, dark brunette hair, and a cute button nose. Her cheeks had a slight tinge of pink whenever she smiled, making his smile. As she was talking, he had to be alert for Jessica. She blew up at him yesterday for even sitting at her table, and getting her number. She said he was 'feeding her attention', they fought, and aren't even speaking. But it was the usual.

"It's short for 'mi hija' meaning 'my daughter'." She stated, stopping outside of the calculus classroom.

"So you're Spanish?" He asked. She nodded, blushing at his curiosity. "It must suck, not having anyone to speak Spanish with."

"Well, Tony and I first became friends because he guessed. And I speak Spanish with my father, it's been hard learning English. But I finally got there." She explained. The classroom was empty, so she had time to talk.

"That's nice, and I can barely tell. Your English is really good." He responded. "I got to get to class, but I hope I'll see you later. Do you have track later?" She fumbled for her schedule, scanning her eyes over the day. Spotting PhysEd, nodding up at him.

"See you then," he called out, walking away from him. His bright smile and his floppy, brown hair. She couldn't say he wasn't attractive, because he was. But if he has a girlfriend, Elizabeth knows to respect their boundaries. Finally, the bell rang and she entered her classroom, preparing her brain for a long session of numbers.
