Elizabeth woke up with a splitting headache, it felt like someone was going at her head with an axe. Clutching her stomach, she trudged to the bathroom and threw up. A usual hangover occurrence. Her next mission was to find some Tylenol or something to get rid of the construction work on her skull. Downstairs was a mess, there were only her closest friends still sleeping. Everyone else had left. Bottles and cups everywhere, chips all over the floor and the backyard was just as much of a mess as the house.
She found the Tylenol in the kitchen cupboard, swallowing it down with some water. She was in Justin's shirt and some shorts, cleaning the kitchen entirely. There was a faint smell of vodka, making her almost heave.
"This isn't a way to spend your hangover." A person groaned behind her. "We can do this, birthday girl." She turned to see Zach, his messy hair all over the place. And was walking round in his shirt and underwear. "Once I put pants on." She laughed and handed him a trash bag.
She took this time to shower, passing a sleeping Justin on her way through the bedroom. The hot water had washed away any alcohol on her skin, it had completely cleared her headache, and she felt cleaner afterwards. Entering her room, Justin was now up and pacing around the room. Viciously running his hand through his hair, he looked up at her. "We have a problem."
She furrowed her brow and sat beside him on the bed, the towel still tightly wrapped around her body. His elbows were on his knees and his head was in his hands. She rubbed his back slowly as she waited for his answer. "What's up?"
"We had sex last night, right? I didn't dream it?" She remembered the sex vividly. It was the highlight of her night. "I can't find the condom, I'm not sure if I even used one." Elizabeth shot up, darting over to her calendar. A small red dot on today. Fuck.
"Holy shit, what am I going to do?" She freaked. Justin had stopped freaking out the moment she began. He got up and held her in his arms, trying to think of a possible solution. "My dad has reacted to everything calmly, but this? I don't think he's going to be calm when his 18 year old daughter is pregnant."
"El, calm down. We don't even know if you are yet, so before we freak out, let's confirm." He reassured her, grabbing his phone from his pocket.
"No. No, I don't want to confirm. I don't want to think about this right now." She whispered. Her hands were shaking, she was completely afraid. Having a child would change her life forever. But what if it was a good thing. Before she could even convince herself it was a good thing, she found herself an outfit. "I can't be here right now, I need to go and clear my head."
"Okay, be safe. I love you." Justin spoke, watching as she left the house. He couldn't fight with her, she was more scared than anyone. He knew how afraid she was, so arguing wasn't going to do anything.
"Where did she go?" Zach asked Justin, who had sat in the now tidy living room. Him, Alex, and Charlie had tidied the house. He was sure he heard Clay grumble in the backyard.
"She just needs some time alone." Justin replied and huffed, his head hitting the couch cushion. Zach and the small group beside him had dispersed, leaving Justin to himself.
Thoughts were clouding his head, he was freaking himself out more than he should be freaking out. What if her period is just late? What if he took initiative whilst drunk and threw the condom? When Elizabeth finally arrived home, the anxiety in his body seemed to drop. She had arrived with large bags of fast food and drinks.
"Surprise." She muttered softly to Justin. "And I'm sorry for freaking out on you. I know you're worried, I just don't want to think about it right now." He nodded and took the bag from her, arranging the food out on the coffee table as everyone had joined them both.
