Lovely Flaws

He understood him, of course. All of his life, Draco had picked on him. But... it was so hard. So. Freaking. Hard. Imagine waking up everyday knowing the person you loved would never give you a crap. All because they could never be attracted to you. Never.

Draco had figured that out a long time ago. Sometime in first year, he realized Harry had hurt him deeper than he probably intended. And he hated him for it. He hated himself for being so foolish to fall in love with him.

So he started picking on him. Pointing out all his flaws. It was the only way to keep himself from making stupid, love struck, mistakes. Draco knew what he was doing was wrong, but in some small way it also made him feel better. He wanted to hurt him just as much as he'd hurt Draco.

Maybe if he saw all that was wrong with Harry, he'd get over him. It never worked. He only ended up embracing him and all his wonderful imperfections. His stupid, lovely flaws. And all his quirky ways. Like how Harry, even though he was right handed, always used his left hand to fix his hair. Or how he'd scrunch up his nose when he was embarrassed. Or even how he rolled up his pajama pant legs before going to bed. (Don't ask how he knows all this... he's a little obsessed, okay?😉)

He knew everything he could possibly find out about him. He knew that, if it was another life, they would be prefect for each other.

But then he'd have to face the fact that they were enemies. He was bad, Harry was good. He was a devil, and Harry was a saint. It hurt Draco whenever he hurt Harry. But... he got to see his wonderful, smiling face everyday that way. It wasn't perfect in any way, but it was enough, for now, at least. And that's what hurt the most.

...because knowing you can't even talk to the one you love, hurts even more. And seeing them with another hurts worse.
