Henry was in the living room waiting on Tony to get back with Morgan for lunch when he heard the gravel crunch, Henry's brows rose as he closed his book with a little more force than intended and placed it on the table before standing up to look out the window. "Oh god." Henry sighed and rubbed a hand over his face when Steve got out followed by Natasha and Maria and they had another guy in the back that Henry didn't recognize, Henry watched as Tony sucked his teeth before nodding at Henry who opened the door.
"Want me to run interference?" Henry says gently as he takes Morgan from Tony's arms. "Uh no, I got it. I'm gonna grab some coffee for everyone." Tony half smiles as he moves past Henry and grabs the serving tray they keep for times like this. "Hey Hen." Maria half waves at Henry as he lets Morgan down and pushes her off to play. "Hey, Hi Nat." Henry moves his hand at Natasha as he leans against the door, he turns his head towards the kitchen to see that Tony is almost finished with the coffee.
Henry licks his lips as he stares at Steve, Steve was wise and he didn't say anything. Henry has a lot of resentment towards Steve for what happened because he knows that if Steve had listened to Tony then the battle would've never happened not to mention He kept the fact that his best friend killed Tony's parents a secret, sure Tony has forgiven both Steve and James, he's even given James' Husband a job after everyone disappeared but Henry can't let it go, he remembers seeing his husband broken and it's what ruined their relationship. "Here we go!" Tony says in a faux cheery voice as he walks past Henry breaking him out of his thoughts.
Henry sighed and kissed Tony on the cheek before he walked back inside closing the door behind him, he plastered a smile on his face for Morgan and walked towards the kitchen. "What do you want for lunch, honey?" Henry asks in faux cheeriness hoping that Morgan wouldn't notice a difference. "Dino Nuggies!" Morgan cheered as she ran towards Henry's legs making him have to brace himself against the counter when she bumped into his legs.
"Come on you little nugget, you can help me." Henry picks her up carefully and places her on the counter by the stove, Henry knew that she would be fine while he grabbed the pan but he still had an eye on her as he grabbed the pan. "What else do we need?" Henry hums putting his finger on his lips faking confusion. "We need the nuggies, Papa." Morgan giggled at him as he slammed his head dramatically and walks over to the freezer to grab them.
As he's placing them onto the pan he turns his head past Morgan to look outside onto the porch, he can see that Tony looked stressed. "Hey Monkey, can you do me a favor?" Morgan lifts her head from where she's picking at her nails. "Of course Papa." Morgan swings her legs as she waits for Henry to respond, he sucks his teeth as he opens the oven door and places the pan into it. "Can you do me a favor and go save Daddy? It looks like he could use some help." When Morgan nods Henry walks over to her and kisses her on the forehead before letting her down, he gulps as he hears the door open as she's walking outside.
He takes the rest of the nuggets and puts them back in the freezer before he leans against the kitchen sink and watches as Steve, Maria, Natasha, and the guy Henry doesn't recognize start to walk off the porch and back to their car, his head turns towards the door as Tony walks through it with Morgan still tucked onto his shoulder, he kisses her cheek before he lets her down gently.
Henry sighs as Tony starts to walk towards him, when Tony gets close enough Henry puts his hands on his waist and starts to rub a soothing motion against his hip. "How'd it go?" Henry asks letting Tony rest his head on Henry's shoulder. "They want to go back in time to get the stones and save everyone." Tony's murmurs voice muted from where it's muffling against his shirt. "Is that even possible?" Henry asks mostly to him as he rests his cheek against Tony's hair.
"No" Tony paused for a second. "I don't know, Scott was telling me that he lost someone, he told me that everyone lost someone but I know that more than anyone." Tony looks up from Henry's shoulder and grabs onto Henry's arms tightly. "We lost people, and I want them back more than anything but time travel is just not possible and even if it was I couldn't, no I wouldn't give up what I have. I love what I have, I don't want anything to jeopardize that." Henry watched Tony gulp and move his arms so they were around Henry's waist and Tony hugged him tightly.
"It's fine, you don't have to worry about it anymore. I love what we have too." Henry pressed a kiss onto Tony's hair, he knew his husband, he knew that later tonight when they were supposed to be sleeping Tony would be hunched over the work table trying to figure out if it is possible, Henry knows that if it turns out to be possible, Tony would ask if he should do it and Henry knows that he would say yes because he wouldn't be able to live with himself if he denied Tony a chance to get Peter back.
