Chapter 4 -
Amethysts POVShe picks up the cord phone that is lying on her desk and hits the first button. It rings twice before I hear whoever she’s calling pick up.
“Yes. Yes could you come over to the office please? I just have Amethyst waiting.”
Right on cue I see her turn to look towards me as I wander around the office looking at multiple trophies and ribbons that hang on the wall.
“Yes. I’ve decided to pair her with Acorn?” She continues. What a cute name for a horse. Acorn. Hmm. I like that.
“Yes. Yes I know. I think she can handle it.”
“Wait what? Handle what?” I think to myself.
“Just come and give her a tour and help her tack acorn up please? Thanks.” She puts the phone down with a resounding clatter and turns once again to face me.
“Jason will meet you outside dear.” She says gesturing towards the door I entered through before. I begin to walk to it then turn around and call out over my shoulder to her disappearing figure,
“Thanks Rachel!”
“You’re welcome dear!” she answers before her voice is blocked by the bell ringing once again and the slam of the heavy wooden door.
“Ok. Ok. Ok. Ok. Now to find… umm Jason I think,” I say to myself under my breath. “That shouldn’t be too hard.”
I skip down the steps and turn the corner to head in the general direction of the barn.
Thump!
“Ouch!” I squeal as I slam into something hard bouncing backwards and landing on the grass behind me.
“I’m so sorry! Here let me help you.” I hear a voice say from somewhere above me. My heads to fuzzy to really focus on anything right now. I feel two strong arms wraps themselves around me. One on my waist, the other grasping my hand. Before I know it I’m on my feet again wobbling around like a new born foal.
“Oh my god! I’m so sorry!” I say apologetically. “I wasn’t looking where I was going and…” I stop, finally getting a glimpse of the person I almost knocked to the ground. I have to look up to properly see his face as he is a good 30cm taller than me, but I can already tell he’s gorgeous. Light blue eyes, touched with hints of green shine through a thick mop of dark brown hair. His black farmers shirts hangs relatively loose away from his body but I can still see the hardened toned muscles that lay beneath.
“No! No!” he stutters. “It was completely my fault! Are you Amethyst?”
“Yep that’s me,” I sigh.
“Haha. I’m Jason. Nice to meet you.” He flashes me a gleaming smile and extends his hand. I return the smile and take it.“Sorry we had to meet like this! I’m such a klutz!” I laugh shaking his hand.
“No! No! its perfectly fine!” He says still smiling. I look down a realise he is still has my hand. I move to pull it away but he notices to and we quickly let go and step backwards. I feel my face flush and happy to notice I’m not alone. Jason’s face, as tanned as it might be has also managed to go bright red.
“Come on!” He finally says breaking this awkward silence, “This way to the barn!” He walks off and I follow quickly.Authors Note:
EEEEKKK! So you guys finally got to meet Jason! what do you think? :) hehehe
I'm not going to give away anything! so don't look at me!
