Chapter 5

Exhausted and confused, Kogami walked into the office of division one with lethargic steps. The man could barely hold himself up yet he had to attend work, no way around that.

The reason behind his exhaustion was no other than (Y/N). Last night when he went to go confront her, things didn't go according to his plan. Instead she drugged him and gave him aphrodisiacs and they ended up having sex. Kogami hated to admit it but the physical intimacy felt good. There was just something about her that made him go wild inside but Kogami scolded himself in his mind and blamed everything on the Aphrodisiac medicines.

The man, who was lost in thought, almost bumped into his desk if not for the ever so loud Ginoza.

"Kogami!"

The man calling his name snapped Kogami out of his thoughts and he finally looked up at the bespectacled man.

"If you have time to daydream then you surely should have time to come to work on time." Ginoza sternly lectured Kogami but it fell on deaf ears as Kogami brushed off his best friend's nagging and sat down on his chair. Ginoza's eternal fruitless yelling became white noise to Kogami who became busy with his computer, completely ignoring Ginoza.

There were matters more serious than listening to useless scoldings. The matter being the murder that occurred last night. Kogami wasn't sure when but he knew the culprit behind it was (Y/N). As Kogami was off duty, he hadn't personally visited the crime scene. The murder had occurred in the early hours of the day, approximately around 5 AM. He remembered visiting (Y/N) around 9 PM and after his confrontation, the 'deed' was done but his memories of that were hazy. Like the previous mornings, Kogami found himself at his apartment again. He didn't want to admit but one part of him was glad that ( Y/N) went through the extra trouble to get him home and that he didn't have to worry about finding his way to his house from the various unknown locations (Y/N) asked him to come to. He knew that she was wealthy but he didn't know how she managed to change houses and locations so quickly. Now Kogami had two things to do; one: catching the murderer of Sasayama, where (Y/N) assured she'd help in doing so, two: catching (Y/N) herself.

Kogami couldn't believe how he was actually siding with a criminal; being a police himself and all. But he assured himself that once he had the information he needed from the female perpetrator, he'd apprehend her.

These thoughts kept circling and circling in his head until he heard a loud obnoxious alarm. Before he could even comprehend what was going on, he saw his coworkers sprinting out, ready for action in a new war field. Kogami had no moment for hesitation as he was also made to follow them.

At first, he thought it was the Elevated Stress Area alarm but they had a more serious case to deal with.

A mass murder case.

Loud sound of sirens cut through the sharp wind as the MWPSB rushed to the spot where the commotion occurred.

Once the cars came to a halt, the inspectors and the enforcers got out, each of them armed with Doninators. The drones led them to the crime scene where multiple corpses were present, brutally stabbed.

Kogami had a feeling that (Y/N) was behind it but he didn't voice out his thoughts. Instead he followed Ginoza's commands and all of them split up to search the abandoned factory.

Kogami held his Dominator tightly, sharp grey eyes scanning the area around him. With every step, he walked further and further away from the crime scene. He eventually wandered into a separate building and started searching the abandoned place.

Strange sounds reached his ears and Kogami power walked towards the source only to find the culprit named (Y/N) covered in red. She didn't notice Kogami as she was busy mangling the corpse of a dead man. Kogami took this time to point his dominator at her. He knew this one shot will blow her to pieces but it had to be done, she was a full fledged murderer and lives meant more than information.

Kogami silently breathed in and pointed his dominator at (Y/N), ready to pull the trigger but

The dominator spoke to Kogami and the man felt his jaws drop. (Y/N) had killed and was literally mutilating a corpse right in front of him yet the Dominator showed that her Crime Coefficient was way under 100. But that wasn't the worse part.

Kogami stood there dumbfounded and (Y/N) eventually noticed his presence.

"Ah, Mr. inspector. Sorry to show you such a messy sight." (Y/N) jokingly said as she stood up. She spoke as if her hands weren't stained with the blood of many.

"I hope you remember our promise." (Y/N) said with a giggle. Kogami gritted his teeth in anger. How could someone kill so many innocents and act such a way. It enraged Kogami.

He didn't waste time and dashed towards the girl, ready to finally apprehend her. But to Kogami's surprise, she didn't fight back. He mentally prepared himself for a physical fight but the girl was weaker than all the people he fought. It was like she didn't put any effort to either fight or escape. He quickly pinned the woman on the ground.

"Your game comes to an end here, (Y/N)." Kogami spat out but the woman only giggled.

"The game has only started, dear Shinya."

Kogami's eyebrows furrowed while still keeping a hard expression which soon started to melt. He didn't know why but he was suddenly feeling very sleepy.

He looked down to where he was holding (Y/N)'s hands behind her back and noticed that her glove covered hands were clutching something like blue rocky like substances that was touching Kogami's hands. It made Kogami's droopy eyes widened for a second.

It was Blue Ice.

Kogami recoiled quickly but the drug had already filled his system and before he could act, the enclosing darkness filled his vision and he lost consciousness.
