CARL'S P.O.V
Beth smirked and walked into a room, pulled out a rag, and walked back into Maggie's room. I was standing there, everyone getting back to eating the crumbs off their plate. Rose screamed,"OH NO!" I flinched and stumbled back in fear. "What?!?" I asked, breathing heavily. "I LEFT HER IN THE TREE!" She swung the door open, running outside. I started to go after her, but Grace stopped me. "Carl, no!" She yelled. "Why not?" I asked. "There is walkers out there...""I'd rather have one more group member now, then not have the extra we might need." I sprinted out to her. I stopped in confusion as I saw her grasping a stick that was plunged into the tree. She yanked it out with ease. I was in awe when I saw the spear she was holding, the sharp tip covered in glass shards and barbed wire. I scooted back, my eyes wide as the walkers appeared behind her. I went for my gun in my holster, yelling,"ROSE! BEHIND YOU!" She spun around on her heels as a walker went for the bite.
Rose swung her spear back, the shards plunging into the side of its head. The zombie fell to the ground as she yanked it out, its brains flying off the wood. She thrusted the weapon into all of the walkers' heads, not even needing my gun. I was impressed. Really impressed. She was a fighter. I doubted what I had said before.
PAIGE'S P.O.V
I sat there as Grace stared blankly out the window. "Man, she's good!" Grace exclaimed. "What is she doing?" I asked, feeling ashamed of my disability. "Slaying all these walkers like it's not a big deal!" She replied. "She must be pretty good..." I muttered. "She great! She's the best!" Grace yelled. I rubbed what was left of my leg as I wiped the tear falling down my cheek.ROSE'S P.O.V
I held my baby. "Woah...I almost left you..." I whispered to her. "I would never do that." I added. I shifted my eyes up to Carl who seemed in shock. "What? A girl can't talk to her stick?" He shook his head. "I'm not talking about that...you're amazing!" He exclaimed. "Really? I'm good?" He nodded. "No. You're amazing!" I blushed as he ran up to me, examining my weapon. "A wooden spear with glass shards and barbed wire. What an idea!" He said in awe. "Thanks!" I moved the excess dark crimson hair out of my face. He looked up and smiled at me."Where did you get this?" He said, rubbing the base of my spear. "Well, I made it out of wood and I, uh..., found the glass and barbed wire around, uh..., this place that seemed to have been, uh..., blown up by something..." I lied awkwardly, acting like I didn't know what they had done to the JRC.
"Did you get scratched? Are you hurt?" Carl asked, observing me. "I kinda twisted my ankle when I spun around." He laid his hand on my back, helping me walk. He whispered,"Well, I'll help you. We should get inside and I'll let you rest." I smiled at him as he rubbed my back, gently.
