ahhh! we're finally done with this part! i originally wanted this to be the final part of the series, but there's too many unsolved question to just end it here... i already know what i'm going to do with the series from here, and i can't wait to share it with you guys!
To start, i plan to re write the first three fear volumes, as i wrote them when i was really bad at writing. I have already started progress for each story, and plan to release the re written 'Fear' by this year. (Even though the third volume isn't that bad, the writing is still very sloppy and rushed and i can do a lot better with the story.) Each re written story will have at least 20-25 chapters, and will have mostly the same characters, and the killers will remain the same; however i'm going to add a few more characters to each story and definitely do more character development! The plot of the first volume is going to be VERY different, the second volume will also be quite different as i'm adding something that will tie in to the story. All the rewritten versions will contain: new characters, more subplots, way more character development, more chase scenes, better killer reveals, more chapters etc. (i have fun plot twists planned for all of them.)
after i started writing this story in June of 2020, i officially finished it on November 30th, 2021! I apologize for the long wait after the 15th chapter, it took me over a year to get the other 15 out! But that was because writing wasn't really in my mind until a few months ago.
Actually, i would make constant progress on the story; and even wrote one chapter a day for about a week, however i had very heavy writers block on chapters 26-29 before i even got to them; so that discouraged me from writing, but i eventually figured out what to write about along the way!
i had finished chapter 23 around valentine's day of 2021, however then i just... stopped? idk what happened, but i would occasionally write and chapter 24 and 25 just came about, chapter 26 was the last chapter i started writing for quiet a while, as i didn't know what to do with the story from there; i had already written out the finale and *SPOILER ALERT* (c'mon you should have read the story by now) knew Ava was going to die in the next chapter, but i didn't have an idea of what was going to happen after she died and what would lead up to the finale.
After Ava's death, every major side character is dead from that point, and taking that into account, i knew that i should make it apparent that chapter 28-30 is basically the "endgame" of the story, there isn't much left to explore other than to reveal the identity of the killer as every other subplot doesn't matter at this point as everyone else is already dead; which is why there's a heavy emphasis on it being the "endgame".
Also, i will release side stories that will delve into the backstories of these characters: Ava, Emma, Violet, and Destinee.
this story was honestly a big step in the series, as the focus of the main three (sura, kaja, and ioa) were no longer the protagonists, and we instead got new characters who will be the main characters from now on (although you could say that i did the same thing with Adalyn and Emma.) and considering the fact that Kaja is now dead, that only leaves two of the og three left :(.
and although the focus does shift from the main three to a new cast of characters, it still does feel like a soft reboot yet a sequel at the same time.
i do not know how people feel about the new characters (mostly the main three) but i feel like they were all memorable and likable in their own way.
Fun fact: I consider the first half of the story (1-15) and the second half of the story (16-30) to actually be quite different from one another; considering the fact there's more emphasis on the side characters and everything starts to piece together, and the characters also start to change as the second half begins.
I also think that the genre of the Fear series is quite unique; sure it's primarily horror/mystery, but there's also a theme of slice of life thrown into it; which i think is a good mix.
(Also, if you're wondering, my top three characters are: Ava, Adalyn, and Anthony; but Emma is also up there with them.)
However...
We may not as be as done with the story as we thought. Annie Moore still needs her part of the story.
But then again... who says that stories can't have fake endings?
