The sound of police sirens echoed in the distance as the smoke of the fire went up into the night sky, and two girls were limping away from the sight while panting with exhaustion and relief.
"Wheres the sound coming from?" Adalyn asked Emma in a desperate tone as they walked onto the road.
"I- I don't know, it's getting closer." Emma replied in a state of desperation.
"What happened to the other three?" She asked, her voice shaking with fear. Before Emma could respond, her legs felt weak and she collapsed to the ground.
Adalyn gasped in surprise as Emma fell, and she bent down to try and help her up.
"Please, come on!" She begged in an exasperated tone as the police sirens got closer. A pair of headlights came into view, temporarily blinding her for a second. She could see the pair of flashing red and blue rights above the headlights as well.
Adalyn sighed with relief, but she herself started to slowly go unconscious, the cops stepped out of their car as Adalyn started to slowly limp downwards, and the voices of the cops became muffled.
"Get them to hospital, NOW!"
