Falling.
Falling.
Falling.
You hit the ground, and sit up, completely unscathed. You look down and see you're wearing a black ball gown, of all things. You looked around you, not sure where you were.
'Where the hell am I?' You thought. Suddenly, an image flashed through the room you sat in. It was of a raging fire. When the fire ceased, you saw your reflection. Loki was standing behind you, an odd look on his face.
Another image flashed across the room. It was the mission from earlier that day. It showed when the man detonated the bomb. The image zoomed in to your face. It slowed, and you saw your eyes change to orange, then they shut. You saw your hands glow, then stop as Loki prevented the blast from impacting you or the rest of the team.
Then a vision of that morning flashed around you. You looked down at your hands after boxing, seeing the tape had worn through, and your hands were completely fine.
One final vision set before you. It was of you, fighting a swarm of enemies in an unknown place. You'd made it through the battle, with only minor injuries, and made your way into a big golden castle.
You ran down the halls to a tall black door, with strange markings all over it. You put your hand to the wood, running your fingers over it. You heard voices shouting behind you, so you pushed the door with all your strength, and just as it opened, it was if the sun itself was on the other side of the door.
The light softened, and you snapped back to reality. You looked around your room, trying to comprehend what had just happened. Your breathing had increased dramatically, and you were sweating profusely.
Shaking, you turned around to walk back out the door. You peered down the hallway, looking for anyone that could've been there. You saw Loki open his door, and walk out. "Loki..." you whispered.
He turned around, raven hair strewn about. "Y/n?" He looked confused. You sank to your knees, unable to support your own weight anymore. "Y/n, what happened? Are you alright?" Wanda came out of her room. "Oh my god, what happened?" She ran over to you. "Dear god you're burning up I can feel you from here." Wanda said. "Wanda, do you think-" "Maybe."
"W-what happened?" You said quietly. "You tell us." Wanda said. You shut your eyes in defeat. "Can I look?" Wanda asked. You nodded your head, and opened your eyes again. Wanda grabbed your hand and began concentrating on your mind.
After a few moments, she opened them, slight shock playing across her features. "What's wrong? What is it?" Loki asked. "She had a vision." Wanda looked down at you.
"What?" You felt some strength return to you. You shifted your weight back to your own body. "You had a vision. It happens to me sometimes. I wouldn't worry too much about it." Wanda said. "I would. Visions only come to beings that possess magic." Loki said.
"Magic?" You looked up at him. "Yes. But we don't need to worry about that yet. You need to rest." Loki said, helping you up. "She wasn't joking, you feel hot." Loki said. "I know." You said. "I feel hot."
You let Loki help you over to your bed, Wanda standing at the door. "You should stay." You said, half asleep already. "You're a frost giant... maybe you'd help me cool off?" "You're delirious." Wanda smiled. "But she has a point. If she's running a fever you might be able to break it if you lay with her." She said.
Loki looked down at you and sighed. "If it'll help her." "Well. On that note I bid you a-due. I think I need to tell the rest of the team about what happened." She shut the door and left.
Loki looked over at you, and saw that you were still in your suit. He walked over and took your boots off, along with your belt, and all the other equipment attachments. Hesitantly, he unzipped the front of your catsuit.
He breathed out a breath of relief when he saw you had a tank top on underneath. He only pulled it down to your waist, because he knew you surely weren't wearing shorts under the suit too. Loki changed into a T-shirt and sweats and crawled into bed beside you.
He looked over at you and saw that your hair was plastered to the sweat on your forehead, so he got up and went to find a hair tie. He came back and pulled your hair back into a ponytail, another attempt to cool you off.
He laid next to you for a few minutes before you unconsciously rolled over, your head resting on his chest. You felt the cool seep into your skin inch by inch, the heat subsiding.
A few hours later you opened your eyes. You looked around and saw that you were in your own bed. You felt a hand rest on your head. You looked up and nearly screamed when you saw Loki in your bed. "What the fuck are you doing here?" You said. "You were running a fever. Wanda told me to stay so I could help the fever break." He said. "God what the hell happened to me?" You pressed your hand to your head.
"You had a vision." He said, propping himself up on his elbows. "I ha- oh..." you looked at him, slightly scared. "Do you remember?" He asked. "Yeah."
"What'd you see?" Loki asked you. You bit your bottom lip. "It's alright, you can tell me." He said. "Well... the first vision was fire, then when it stopped, you were there standing next to me. The next one was of the mission, when the guy detonated the bomb. My eyes turned orange and my hands started to glow but then stopped. The next one was from this morning.. or at least I think it was this morning. But I'd been boxing for awhile and hadn't realized two hours had passed. I hadn't broken a sweat, and the tape on my hands had worn through, yet there wasn't a single scratch on my knuckles. The last one was really weird though. I was fighting off a bunch of guards, and when I finally broke from them, I found myself running into a big castle, trying to find something. I'm not sure what it was, but I came to this big black set of doors with odd markings all over it. I heard voices so I pushed the door open, and then... here I am." You said.
Loki stared off into nothing. "What is it?" You said. "Loki what happened?" You stood. "We need to go to the training deck." He looked over at you. "Give me a minute to change." You said. "Your suit is still on." He said. You looked down and saw your suit bunched up around your waist. You pulled it up and zipped it.
"Alright let's go." You said.
