"So how'd you do it?" You caught up with Loki as he walked into the elevator. "Do what?" He said. "You know, give up mischief for love? How'd you do it?" You asked. "The only love I've ever been shown was from my mother." "The only love you've ever given was to your mother. I know for a fact that Thor loves you. I've heard him say it." You poked him.

"I was closest with my mother. I favored her over everyone else. She was the one who taught me to draw my power from love." He said. "I see. But you do know that he loves you right?" You said. "I do." He stared at the wall blankly.

"And do you love him?" You asked. "Where do you draw your power from?" He said. "Well.. I guess it's love now." You said, confused. "And who is it that you love?" He glances down at you. "Well, when you told me that I needed to draw my power from those that I love, I thought of Clint and Natasha. They're the closest thing I have to family. I thought of them, I thought of all the comforts of home, food I love, things that make me happy." You said.

"My mother always said she drew her power from my father. She loved him more than she loved anything else in the universe. That's why she was so incredibly powerful." He said. "That's sweet."

"She told me once I find the person I'm destined to be with, my power will finally reach its full potential. When I was younger, I always thought that I'd finally be able to conquer the world." He said. "And now?" You looked up at him. "Now I feel that the only world I need to conquer is my own." He said.

"You really have changed haven't you?" You smiled. "Don't get used to it darling. We had a moment. Tomorrow the moment will be over, and I'll be back to my mischievous self." He smiled, and stepped out of the elevator. "We'll see about that lover boy." You smirked.

"Lover boy hm?" He turned and walked back over to you. He kissed you again, this time lifting you chin with his hand. "Hm. Peculiar thing isn't it." Then he turned and walked away.

You stood for a moment, too shocked to say anything. Two kisses in one evening? You bit your lip and smiled, returning to your bedroom.

"Loki look out!" You yelled. A bullet flew right past his head. "Oh my god." You said quietly. "You asshole! Watch what you're doing!" You smacked him. You heard more gunfire, and tackled Loki behind a building.

"Y/n don't. I know that look." You got up, and walked back out to face the enemy. You felt the anger rising, and you broke loose. After you'd blown the bitches to hell, you turned back behind the building to Loki.

"I know you said to draw my power from love and crap, but you gotta admit, that was pretty badass." You smirked. "Yes, yes it was." He said. "Hey are you guys okay?" Clint came running over. "Yeah we're good."  "That was pretty sick what you did just then." Clint said. "Thanks." You smiled.

"Let's go home." You said. "Right." Clint said. Loki looked back, and then followed suit. "What'd you look back for?" You said. Loki summoned a dagger for himself. You turned around, and saw him summon a sword. "Here." He threw it at you. "Loki wha-" your reflexes kicked in, and you swung the sword around, nearly taking Nats head off. "Oh my god! Natasha." You dropped the sword. "I'm sorry." You said. She laughed. "It's not the first time that's happened." She said.

"Is everything okay?" You asked. "Yeah. Tony got everything squared away. We're leaving in a few minutes." She said. "Okay.." you bent down and picked up the sword.

You stood, and suddenly everything started spinning. "Y/n? Are you alright?" Loki came to your aid. You stumbled back a few steps into Loki's arms. "She's burning up..." Loki said. "I don't... I don't feel right.." you said.

"We need to get her back to the compound." Nat said. "Can you walk?" Clint asked. "Mmm." You braced yourself on Loki's arms, and stood, before your knees buckled. "No." Loki said, picking you up.

"Loki..." you leaned into his armor. "Yes?" He looked down at you. "What's happening to me?" You asked, coughing a little. "Not here." He said.

Once you got back to the compound, and successfully gotten the rest of the team to let Loki take care of you, he carried you to your room.

Loki pushed the door open, and walked over to your bed. "Ancient Asgardian folklore tells of a Phoenix. No one has ever seen this Phoenix, until we did. The vessel of the Phoenix is said to wield more power than Odin himself." He said, sitting on the other side of the bed.

"So, am I the vessel then?" You asked, sweating  slightly. "You could be." He said. "Ah, your fever broke." He said. "That's good." You coughed. "But why am I sick?" You said. "Your powers. Often times when there is great conflict inside oneself, the most powerful of magic will show itself for a short time. Sometimes it will lead the vessel to make the right decision, or trick them into making the wrong decision." He said.

"I'll leave you alone." Loki got up and walked over to the door. "Do you need anything?" He asked. But you were already asleep.
