Chapter 9: The Morning After

Adora's POV

I wake up to a sleeping Catra still nuzzled on my chest and in my arms. I smile and kiss her head gently. Melog is on the foot of the bed sleeping still. The sounds of their purring is relaxing. Melog notices I'm awake and brushes their head against my hand. "Good morning Melog!" They let out a little mew and purr some more. I'm so proud of Catra for what she has endured and proud that she was able to face it and tell me. 

My stomach growls and I realized I didn't eat last night before bed. I slowly and carefully make my way from Catra without disturbing her and head to the common area to grab some food. I see Glimmer and Bow are there eating as well. "Hey guys!" 

"Adora! Hi! Come sit with us! Scorpia should be here soon to join us." 

I grab a plate of food and take a seat next to Bow. "Is everything okay from last night? Is Catra okay? You left in a hurry."

I smile and nod as I stuff food in my face. "Yeah everything is great. She finally opened up to me about what has been going on. She'll be okay." The doors open and Scorpia walks in with her signature smile. She grabs all three of us at once in a big group hug. 

"Have I told you guys how glad I am that you're here? I've missed you all so much!"

"Scorpia...You just saw us...yesterday," Glimmer tries to let out between breathes from Scorpia's embrace. 

"Oop sorry." She lets us all down and we all catch our breath. "I know, but I still missed you guys! So today I figured we could show you more of the Frightzone and what all Entrapta has been doing to the bots to really help fix up the place." She ends the sentence and reaches towards the back of her neck. Wonder if she suffers the same as Catra. I--well we--still have to tell everyone the good news that we are engaged! But, I don't want to do it just yet. I want to wait for Catra, it's her big moment too. 

At that thought I realized it's getting later and I should go wake her up. I fix her a plate of food and bring it towards our room to wake her. Nothing like breakfast in bed. "Catra. Time to wake up sleepy head." I start to nudge her shoulder until she wakes up. "Good morning there!"

"Uhh. Go away! I'm still sleeping!" 

I bring the plate of food closer to her and she perks up at the smell of the food. She grabs it from my hands and starts inhaling it. "When did you want to tell everyone?"

"What do you mean?" She mumbles out between bites. 

"I mean about our engagement. When should we tell everyone?" 

"Does it really matter?"

"Of course it matters Catra! We are getting married!" I said that a little too loud. Next thing we know Bow plows through the door and into the room. 

"You guys are getting married?! That is so cute! Oh my! We have to tell everyone and start planning for decorations! Glimmer! We have a new mission!" His voice squealed as his eyes started to tear up. 

We can hear the cheers of Scorpia and Glimmer from outside the hall and before we know it we are engulfed in a big group hug.
