The Beginning After the End

Mother knows best

Background:
Tam and Irene had both been staying in Tams apartment with there little baby for the last couple weeks, ever sence Irene gave Tam the key, because although Irene technically already owned the appartment, they had to move a bunch of her furniture out of her old one so while that was happening she decided to just stay with Tam.

General POV:
Tam wakes up before Irene and looks around her half empty room, she gets up from the bed (which is currently on the floor because the movers took her bed frame), and walked into the kitchen. After everything that Irene has done for her the past two weeks she decided she wanted to return the favor by making her girlfriend breakfast in bed (like she had done when Tam was sick). However, when she looks to the spot where the fridge normally is, it's gone, "they took that too" she says annoyed as she rolls her eyes, then she lets out an exasperated grunt and pours out Hades food into a little bowl, the sound of the food being poured into a little metal bowl is enough to wake Irene so she comes out of the room, streches, and says "morning guapa, why are you up so early" seeing that the time on the kitchen stove was 7:30, then Tam says " I just woke up so I was going to make you breakfast, but I forgot that they took our fridge, I mean what good is having cooking appliances when I have no food to cook on them?", after hearing the annoyed tone in Tams voice Irene says "chill guapa we can just go out" then in a low voice Tam says "well ok..." then returning to her usual volume she states "but I'm paying" Irene says "fine, whatever you want" laughs, and gives Tam a kiss in the cheek.

At the breakfast place Tam orders a waffle, an iced coffee and some bacon while Irene orders the salmon eggs Benedict and an orange juice, Tam looks at her girlfriend eating the salmon, gives a light laugh and goes "you're my fancy sapito aren't you?" Irene just reply's by rolling her eyes and finishing off the plate of food, just then she got a text, it was from her mom asking if she could see her later so that she could share some "important news" she quickly looked up at Tam and said "babe look" while showing her the screen, "what do you think that means?" Tam asked and Irene shrugged and said "I don't know, but we have some news to tell her too" (indicating to their relationship) after swallowing her last bite of waffle Tam said "she doesn't know?" Looking at Irene puzzled and suspicious, Irene than said "well...no...not officially, but that's because I wanted to do it in person ok?" Tams face then relaxed and she drew a smile responding with "ok" than she added "we need to tell her about Hades and the apartment anyway right?" Irene said "exactly" and the two paid, got up, and headed to Irenes mother Suzannes house.

Irenes POV:
When I got to my moms house I was really nervous because I didn't know how she would react to everything that I was about to tell her, Tam noticed this and grabbed my hand before I knocked on the door. When my mom opened it and saw Tam she immediately hugged her and let us both in "it's nice to see you too Mrs.Ferreriro" said Tam then my mother responded with "Tam you know it's Susan, and yes I'm glad to see you" then we sat down in the living room and turning to me she said "I can't say I'm not superised tho" (giving me a "why didn't you tell me sooner" look) then I grabbed Tams hand who was sitting on the couch next to me and said "I'm sorry I didn't say something sooner, but I wanted to t0 tell you in person..." then I smiled while my mom was looking at me intently (waiting for me to say what she had secretly always hoped would happen), I then took a deep breath, smiled looking at Tam, than looked back at my mother and said "me and Tam are together again" she then jumped up from pure joy and we all embraced in a group hug, then Tam said "I'm glad you are supportive, and I'm sorry for every bit of pain I've ever caused you or her" (looking at both me and my mother with apologetic eyes) than my mom grabs her hands and says "She's happy and you are happy, I couldn't ask for anything more" than she went on saying "even when she was with what's her face she was never as happy with her as she was with you, and I noticed that, you are the love of her life and I always hoped that one day you two would stop being so damn stubborn and put aside your differences long enough to see it too" she said to my girlfriend who was now blushing and grinning from ear to ear she then finishes her statement by saying "and now you have, she's always been yours Tam, it just took some time for both her and you to see it" she then kisses my girlfriend on the head and we are pulled into a group hug once again. I sat down on the couch sitting closer to Tam than before, and we interlock our fingers as she strokes my hand with her thumb, I then ask my mom "How did you know? You knew even before I knew" and she replied with the simplest, truest answer she could have said, "Sire, I've known you all your life, and raised you since you were a baby, I'm your mother, and mother knows best" then she winks at me and smiles as I feel my cheeks heat up and I look at Tam who was already looking at me and give her a quick kiss, than cuddling to her even more, we look back at my mother who is elated to have us acting "normal" again as she puts it, then un expectedly she says "speaking of 'raising you since you were a baby' I have some news darling" she paused and looked up to see me gazing at her expectedly then she continued saying "Irene honey I don't know how you will take this so I'm just going to keep it short and sweet........ I'm pregnant". "PREGNANT!" I yelled then she said "Yes, pregnant"
