The Beginning After the End

A walk in the... Madrid?

ALL THE PLACES IN THIS CHAPTER ARE REAL PLACES (accept for Tam and Irenes apartment 🤡🤡🤡)

Irenes POV:
I woke up early and excited as ever, I had nowhere to go, no people too see, and Tam told me she wanted to have kids with me in the future, I practically jumped out of bed ready to start whatever would await me and Tam on this fabulous September day, I practically skipped to the shower humming "Mystery of Love" and glowing brighter than the sun, I undressed, turned on the warm water, and got in, a few minutes later as I was washing the soap out of my hair and humming can't "stop the feeling", when I heard the shower door open and close, and felt her familiar presence and once all the soap was out of my hair I opened my eyes smiling at her, she was already analyzing and smiling at me with made my cheeks redden slangily, then I cupped her face, pressed my lips to hers, and gave her a long "good morning" kiss, then hi said "hi guapa, how was your sleep?" she responded with "amazing, as always when your with me", then I said "how can you tell the difference?" moving a piece of hair from the front of her face to behind her ear,  then she said "on tour its cold, empty, almost lifeless... I sleep hugging a pillow but its not the same, and it never will be" remarking a sad facial expression as if she was thinking about how she felt those nights, then to bring her back I said "thats okay my love, I'm here with you now, lets focus on that vale?", she said "vale", we peered into one another gaze foe a moment and embraced in a tight hug, our bare bodies pressed against one another, and it stayed that way for a long time, neither one of us daring to let go, we didn't speak or say another word, we just held each other, as if we were both fully appreciating that we had the others mind, body, and soul, she kissed where my neck met my shoulders several times and I did the same to her, we then gazed at each other once more and I gave her a peck and whispered "I love you so much", she whispered back "I'm so in love with you", I smiled and kissed her forehead, after that she reached behind my neck and brought our two heads together, we both closed our eyes embracing the serenity of the moment, and after a bit Tam whispered "its always been you Irene, you have always been my person, no matter what I always come back to you" I opened my eyes and looked up at hers with the most tender expression my face could muster to express what my heart was feeling, I then whispered "I know I haven't always acted like it, but I knew you were my person when I first saw you, I even told Ruth" then I chuckled a bit remembering how young and love struck I was, then I said " I said 'I think I'm in love' and I was right, my one and only love of my life... thats you Tam", her eyes were welling up at this point but I couldn't see if she was actually crying, all she could manage to respond with was a kiss and I said "awe my baby don't cry" then I kissed her on the cheek  and said "you wanna shower before we both turn into prunes?" then she laughed wiping away her shower tears and said "sure". 45 minutes passed of us rubbing and running the shower over one another, we were both clean as clean could get, she then opened the shower door for me and while passing though it said "well aren't you a gentle-lady" she laughed and said "or a simp but gentle-lady works too" I laughed and after getting my robe on turned to her and said "idiota" then I kissed her and held out her robe, she put one arm in it, then the other and we headed out of our room into the living room. I fed the cat and Tam immediately went for the fridge, she knelt down to see what we had and with her face still in the fried she said "babe its like a desert in here, theres nothing" then she peeked her head out of the fridge, stood up and said "what shout we do?" I said "brunch?!!! :))))" in an excited tone and Tam said "vale brunch it is", we headed back into our room, got dressed for the day and headed out.

We decided to go to this place called "Brunch Club", I was a cute little bistro with wooden slat tables and metal chairs, I looked to the "most popular" menu and it consisted of about 7 or 8 different types of eggs Benedict, tam read the list and said "your kind of place" I said "I know right?" laughing a little while reading though all the different variations, although it was pointless because in the end I decided on the one with salmon (as always), I told Tam my order and asked if she knew what she was getting, she told me that she wanted to try the peanut butter and banana toast with a side of eggs, a few minutes later we ordered our meals along with two Bloody Marys since we had taken an Uber anyway. We got our drinks and few minutes our food arrived, they looked amazing, and tasted even better, soon were gone as fast as they appeared and Tam and I sat back in our seats, contemplating on whether we should have eaten that much food, after a bit of letting our stomachs settle, we paid our bill and left the charming little brunch spot. When we left we realized we didn't really have any plans after so we decided to go on a walk to let the alcohol clear our systems and explore a bit more of Madrid's culture, although I have lived here my whole life and Tam has lived here since she was in her ear teens, neither one of us had ever actually taken the opportunity to explore its history and learn more about it. We first went to Plaza Mayor just to walk around in a bustling environment full of tourists, shop owners, and fellow citizens.
