Mornings in the underworld tend to get abnormally cold and I can’t make myself get used to it.I searched a pillow through my hands, keeping my eyes closed. Once I felt one, I enclasped it tightly against my chest hoping to get some heat but instead the pillow seemed cold than ever.
Nevertheless, I went back to my slumber.
“Chevel..” Someone mumbled my name. It was such a familiar voice. I groaned, trying to get some more sleep.
“Chevel..” A voice said more clearly this time.
I squinted my eyes to find Gyth next to me, dangerously too close. His arms are extended while wincing in pain.
I looked down where his arms are extended and to my horror, I found them clasped in mine.
I let out a squeal as I let go of his arm and jumped away.
“I-I’m sorry!” I said cowering. I glanced up to Gyth brushing back his disheveled hair that's covering his evergreen eyes.
“It’s fine it’s just a strain.” He explained, sitting up on the edge of the bed.
I blushed thinking how long did I hold onto his arm to have it strained.
Gyth stood up stretching his strained arm as I look down from embarrassment.
“Breakfast is in thirty.” He said walking over to his desk as I stood up to take a quick shower. For some reason, he is so strict when it comes to his time schedule.
“Right. I’ll show you to my other room after breakfast.” Gyth said. I raised my brow in confusion.
I guess it wouldn’t really be such a surprise that he has other rooms given how huge the castle is.
Breakfast is amazing as usual. It never failed to fulfill my appetite. What pretty much occupied my mind is what Gyth has in store for me. It really bugged me what kind of room it is.
After breakfast, I followed Gyth to this so-called room. I pranced behind his back in excitement.
We got down to the basement, which seemed pretty familiar to me.
I looked around as we reached the two wooden doors in the basement. I shifted my eyes towards the right door and remembered that it was the room to get to the human world.
Gyth twisted the handle of the wooden door on the left, gesturing me to come in. It was pretty dark and I can’t really figure out what the room is.
“I don’t really know if you’ll like it here.” Gyth muttered as he switched the lights on.
My eyes squinted at the sudden brightness but once I recovered, my mouth dropped open in awe.
The walls are filled with different kinds of wines.
Each wall has a sliding glass window filled with wines and a drink table. At the center of the room is an elegant table with cantilever chairs facing each other.
“This is my wine cellar.” Gyth said, his eyes gleaming proudly.
I’ve never seen him so happy about something before. I remembered Dicarius mentioned something about how wine can calm Gyth down. I guess he really likes wine.
“Would you like to try some?” Gyth asked and before I could even decline, he’s already in front of the glass door scanning through the vast bottles of wine.
“Here. This is one of my favorites.” Gyth said. He poured some wine in the glass and extended it towards me.
“T-thanks.” I said as I took the glass from his hands.
