Gyth held me between his arms as we flew towards the king’s castle. His speed is unbelievably fast as if he wanted to get this over with as soon as possible.
I tightly held my hands around his neck not wanting to slip off my grasp.
We past through the village he once took me and in a blink of an eye, it was gone from my vision.
I always wondered how far the king’s castle would be but after just a few small villages and a grand city, we’ve arrived.
Gyth landed us in front of the tall steel gates of the castle. Compared to Gyth’s, this is obviously bigger and grander.
I instantly flinched upon setting eyes with the beasts in front of me. They have red round eyes with fire coming out of their mouth when they breathe. Not to mention how enormous they are.
I grasped Gyth’s cape as I swallowed upon chasing my breath. Suddenly, the gates opened and the two beasts stepped aside, as if letting us to go in.
I felt Gyth took a step forward but I wasn’t budging from my place. Gyth noticed the distance between us and came back to hold my hand.
He pulled me gently as we pass through the beasts while I quivered in fear. To be honest, they’re much more horrifying than the chimera who almost made me his feast.
After passing through the horrifying beasts, Gyth halted in front of the castle doors and turned to face me.
“Chevel. Stay close, okay?” He said and I nodded nervously as I swallowed the growing lump in my throat.
I can feel my stomach getting queasy as we slowly paced towards the castle doors.
Gyth told me beforehand that this castle is crammed with demons and other kinds. Mostly my worst nightmares if I could state in a simple term.
Even with Gyth beside me, I can still feel the constant pounding in my chest and the trembling of my body.
Two silver-armored knights stand guarded on the castle doors. I can’t even see how they look like since they’re pretty much covered with the armor. I shook the thought off my head before I could make up horrifying appearances in my mind.
They stepped aside letting us pass after observing us for a minute.
My mind promptly sent enormous pumps of fear as soon as the door opened and vast numbers of demons appeared before me.
They looked much more terrifying than the villagers I saw. Some got wings sprouting out of their heads, some has spiky long teeth and disgustingly boney bodies, and others are massively huge. They come in various sizes and appearances.
I shifted my gaze to the other side and unlike the others, they're gorgeous beings wearing elegant clothing. I glanced towards Gyth with a smile on my face but he shook his head slightly.
"They are incubi and succubi. Don't be deceived by their appearances." Gyth leaned in, whispering next to my ear.
I let out a shaky breath as I glimpse back at them. I can’t help but notice the way they looked at us, specifically me as if they’re disgusted or filled with anger.
I shifted my vision back to the terrifying ones and my eyes couldn't believe what it hadn't caught a while ago. There are humans beside each of them. I squinted my eyes and saw clearly that most have blood stains on their thin clothing and most or even all of them looked thin and feeble.
I watched in horror as they used them as chairs or tables and when their body gives up, they would get lashed hardly in front of everyone and the demons would just laugh about it.
They treat them like toys.
It's just like what Gyth said about how they treat humans as slaves in the underworld and now that I could see it with my own eyes, I can't help but feel the veins in my body screaming for help.
Our attention averted towards the right corner when a sudden scream echoed through the place. A frail bodied woman is held captive by a proper looking man and by the way he dressed, he must be an incubus.
"Hands on your back." The incubus said and the woman did so soon after as she trembled in fear.
"Open your mouth." He ordered and the next thing I saw turned the fear in my veins into anger and pity.
I can’t believe how he nastily spit his saliva inside the human’s mouth. I closed my eyes immediately. I can't even watch without wanting the need to vomit.
I felt my fists balled as I bit my lower lip to the point that blood dripped out. My eyes darted towards Gyth as I felt his hand tighten in mine. He gave me a reassuring look and I let out a sigh, composing myself.
It’s just so cruel and inhumane how the terrifying demons whip the humans and how the incubi and succubi sexually harass them.
I know that they’re demons and such but I didn’t thought for it to be this maddening.
I can’t even look at any of them anymore as I felt the nauseating feeling in my stomach starting to build up.
I darted my vision towards the shining thing on their chest and my eyes widened upon seeing the crimson badge that Gyth had warned me about.
“Stay close.” Gyth said, draping his arm on mine as we walk pass the countless demons around us.
I can feel their lust for blood every second we took a step forward.
I shifted my gaze towards Gyth and his eyes were dark and stern, focused on the straight path ahead of us.
It wasn’t long until we reached the long flight of stairs and I let out a long sigh, which caught Gyth’s attention.
“Are you okay?” He asked warily turning his gaze towards mine, his arm still wrapped on mine.
“Yes..” I muttered, trying to hide how hoarse and shaky my voice has become.
“What happened?” He anxiously asked, his thumb brushing my chin.
I gasped sliding his hand off as I covered my mouth.
“I just bit it out of nervousness..” I reasoned out, feeling bad about my sudden gesture.
“At least let me wipe it out.” He said, softly holding my hands off my mouth.
I felt a sting as he carefully cleaned my lips with a black cloth from the pocket of his trousers.
“Thank you..” I muttered and he nodded warily as we continued to ascend the stairs.
I’m quite relieved that the stairs are clean from demons and that I could ascend them without the bloodlust-filled eyes but I couldn’t shake the fact that the most concerning one I have yet to face is at the top of these stairs.
My knees are getting weaker each time we took a step.
As we slowly reached the last step of the stairs, my body gave up almost making me kneel down but Gyth held my weight.
He slowly stood me back up and I wobbled my way through the long hallway.
The silent eerie sound made it much more horrifying as the laughter of the demons downstairs started to fade away.
“Chevel..” Gyth muttered, holding my arms gently. I lifted my head to look at him and I could see the worry in his eyes.
“I’ll be okay.” I assured him, as I took a long deep breath before we continued to walk the long eerie hallway.
I have to contain myself or the fear will take control of me and I’d go insane.
I clasped my hands together as tightly as I could, trying to calm their trembling.
My heart skipped a beat as soon as Gyth halted in front of a huge baroque door. I felt Gyth’s hand tighten against my arm as he drifted his gaze towards mine.
“This is the throne room.” He said and my attempt of calming myself instantly dissolved into thin air as fear crept all throughout my body.
I hope I’ll still get to live after today.
