I felt so unbearably tired the day after we got back from the human world. I can’t even get myself off the window seat.Gyth offered to bring breakfast back for me. I refused and told him that it’s not necessary but he insisted, forcing me back to bed.
Kuppuru never left my side since we got back. I guess he sensed that I’m not feeling well. He’s been glued on top of my stomach since last night.
The sound of the creaking door caught my attention and to my surprise Gyth and Dicarius are both coming in from the door.
I quickly pushed myself up with my elbow and leaned against the windowsill.
“I told you sir, I would handle the cooking. That would just make her more ill.” Dicarius said, pointing over Gyth’s tray as he took long strides towards me.
He placed a bed tray in front of me and settled the food from his hands.
“How dare you talk back to your master that way, Dicarius!” Gyth said, stomping forward.
They both glared at each other for a minute before giving up. From my perspective, I can tell how close they both really are.
“Don’t fight. I’ll eat both of them.” I said, forming a smile on my lips.
Gyth’s eyes suddenly lit up as he turned to look at me. He settled his food on the tray whilst shoving Dicarius' food to the other side. A soft giggle escaped my mouth as Kuppuru suddenly hissed at Gyth’s plate.
They both stared at me waiting for me to start eating. Gyth’s eyes are wide as I placed a tablespoon full of the poached egg he cooked.
I let it simmer in my mouth till the salt kicks in. I coughed and immediately darted my eyes towards Gyth.
He has a deadpan expression like he always has but this time it’s more of like a disappointed look. I got used to him that I could even tell if he's mad or glad behind his emotionless expressions.
“Both tastes fantastic.” I remarked, after drinking a glass of water. I might’ve had my salt’s portion for the month.
“Oh please milady, you’re being too nice with the Master.” Dicarius said, making me chuckle whilst Gyth gave him a death stare.
Dicarius flinched and immediately picked up the bed tray with the silverwares and cutleries on top and rushed out the room.
“I know it tastes terrible.” Gyth said letting out a sigh and I guiltily pressed my lips.
“Just slow down on the salt.” I said, smiling towards him, which he unexpectedly reciprocated. It was the first time I’ve seen him smile.
I suddenly felt butterflies in my stomach and a sudden rush of heat on my cheeks.
Well to be honest, he just pointed the edge of his lips upward in a creepy way. But still he made an effort to do so.
I stared at him for quite a while, before a sudden knock on the door snapped me out.
Both Gyth and I looked at each other then towards the door. I guess he also doesn’t have a clue who might’ve needed something this early.
He walked towards the door, opening it slowly. I tried tiptoeing but no luck so I stood up from the window seat, knowing that I wouldn’t be able to see if I wasn’t elevated.
I peeked through and saw an enormous puppy talking to him. The puppy suddenly met my eyes and started wagging its tail.
“Chevel!” The puppy said calling out my name. I flinched, leaning my back against the windowsill.
Gyth stepped aside, letting the puppy run towards me. I froze in utter shock as the puppy started to jump onto the bed, shocking Kuppuru from his sleep.
I turned to look at Kuppuru in some hope that he’ll rescue me from this situation but he just returned to his slumber.
Great.
“W-what?” I asked, looking over to Gyth. My mouth dropped open as I saw the grin planted in his lips. Is he enjoying this?
“Chevel! Hey, it’s me!” The puppy said, standing on his hind legs with its front legs against my stomach. I stared at the puppy’s eyes for a while and I soon recognized his eyes.
“You’re the boy!” I said, proceeding to hug him soon after.
“His name is Sebastian by the way.” Gyth said, leaning against his desk as he watches us keep up with each other’s lives.
“I’m a messenger in this castle now.” Seb said proudly. He filled me in on what happened since I fell asleep.
I guess Gyth might've told him my name since it was the first time we've talked since coming from the hospital.
I also introduced him to Kuppuru and he promised to play with him during his free time. I’m glad that he’s doing really well.
“Oh I forgot what I really came here for.” Seb said, jumping off the window seat and pranced towards Gyth.
“Master! Dicarius asked me to pass the message that Lady Lilith will be here soon.” Seb said and Gyth flinched, his face filled with annoyance.
“Damn Dicarius. I told him to not let her have a visit again.” Gyth muttered, letting out a long sigh.
I wondered who Lilith is. Just the mention of her name made Gyth nervous.
I didn’t even have much time to think when the door suddenly sprung open and a woman came running towards Gyth.
Our faces are utterly filled with shock and the room fell silent until Seb broke it down. "Lady Lilith.."
“Well then, I better go Master, Milady.” Seb said, shifting from Gyth to me and lastly to the woman named Lilith clinging onto Gyth’s arm.
Gyth ran his hands over his face, a hint of annoyance evident in him.
“Gyth I’ve missed you!” She said. Suddenly I felt my nerves tighten as she clung onto Gyth’s arm like her life depended on it.
Lilith shot her eyes towards mine. She’s glaring at me like she’ll slit my neck any second. I felt my stomach turn as I clasped my hands together. She looks intimidating.
Gyth sighed putting Lilith’s hands down from his arm.
“I’m going to see Dicarius first.” Gyth said, and I felt a sudden lump in my throat.
My mind is screaming for him to not go, to not leave me here alone with this succubus but I can’t make myself utter a word.
He drifted his gaze towards me before turning away. My heart sunk as I watched Gyth walk out the door.
Lilith’s gaze almost immediately shifted to mine as soon as Gyth was out of sight.
