"Oh no", Mary whispered into thin air as she gazed at the wrecked house around her. Then a thought crossed her mind and she screamed "Mom! MOM!" Mary sped up the blood-stained stairs to her mother's room... 'Oh no please no'. Scratch marks decorated the stairs and room. The victim had struggled a lot but someone, no some creature had won the bloody battle.

"NO!" She yelled as she saw her mother's dead body on the bed. "MOM, NO! I love you. What am I supposed to do without you? I need you", she cried in terror and bawled her eyes out. She held her mother in her arms and sobbed. Mary's heart shattered in her chest that day.

Shortly afterwards...

Mary gazed at her no longer home through blurred and swollen eyes. She turned around and ran blindly away, abandoning her only home that she'd ever known.

Not far away, the figure slipped away into the shadows.

The forest noises were ignored as Mary sprinted into it's dark arms. Her heart pounding in her chest was the only noise Mary could hear. The dark clouds gathering in the sky felt her pain and sobbed with her.

The rain soaked into her frail body as she collapsed exhausted onto the hard forest floor. The last thing she saw before exhaustion flooded her body was the bright shining moon gazing down through the dark clouds on her, it seemed to know her pain and understand her. Then she slipped away into darkness.
