"No," were the simple words from her mouth, "I'm Delmira, Adal's great-great granddaughter ."

Mary knew that word from her studies at school, it meant 'noble protector' and it was from a German origin. 'Wow, she must be powerful and strong!' Mary thought in awe.

Delmira peered at the wounded and dead wolves around her in dismay. Sasha's last surviving warriors growled in rage at Delmira, who had stopped them from tearing The Boss's pack apart. Delmira simply stared at them harder and nodded towards their dead alpha. Sasha's now reduced warrior pack quickly saw that Sasha was indeed dead so they fled for their lives. They would not be returning to The Boss or his pack ever again.

The Boss felt guilty as he looked at his sister's dead body. He had killed her. He mourned for her but he knew that she would have killed him without shedding a tear. He missed the happy and kind pup that she used to be. She was not always so cruel and mean. She had once been an angel, now all she had been was a monster.

The small south warrior pack dipped their heads at The Boss, symbolizing that their debt had been paid. They cowered before Delmira as they limped and soon fled out of sight. The Boss knew he and his pack had won. Pride and triumph flooded over him. But it was only for a brief moment because Delmira turned to face him and washed all the pride and triumph away within seconds.

"I knew there was trouble brewing here once again, I could sense it. Clive you killed your very own sister in this combat. I do not like to see or hear our own fighting. We have enough enemies as it is. I understand that Sasha was an evil wolf and she nearly killed you and your pack last time but I'm displeased. You acted in anger and revenge not kindness and compassion. I do not wish to see you fighting your own ever again unless you are in grave danger. Now I understand Sasha wanted the parcel of the great Anara pack that split from Adal's pack so long ago.  The parcel rightly belongs to Mary and so does the stone." Delmira turned to Mary who was hiding behind Jake and trembling. "Come out dear, we have much to discuss."

Mary tiptoed out from behind a very confused Jake, his black fur swayed gently in the breeze. Delmira walked over to her and resumed wolf form. "Follow me," whispered Delmira into Mary's wolfy ear. Mary glanced back at her confused friends as she disappeared in to the woods after Delmira.

It wasn't long before scavengers found the battle field and feasted. A thin layer of snow was slowly starting to fall from the saddened clouds. The clouds' hearts' had frozen at the sight of the battle and so when they cried their tears were frozen too. The Boss hung his head and headed for the cottage. The rest followed behind him, limping, bruised and bloody. Jake was very worried about Mary and whatever this parcel thing was. The Boss was very quiet along the way. Lilly and Meg were using each other as support and Liam was trudging behind them. They were all worried about Mary and Delmira. "Why was Delmira stopping the fight? We won anyway," muttered Liam out loud as they reached the cottage.

Mary continued to follow Delmira through the snowy woods and further away from the cottage and battle field.

Delmira hopped across a frozen river and waited for Mary

Delmira hopped across a frozen river and waited for Mary. Mary crossed the river with great caution and gasped when she saw where Delmira was. Large trees had grown into one another and formed a tunnel of warmth and shelter. It was a beautiful sight. Delmira was sitting in the middle, waiting for her. Mary walked with pain towards Delmira and lay down. "Are you alright Mary?" Delmira's concern was real and genuine, not fake as Sasha's had been when she was holding Mary captive. Mary looked Delmira in her beautiful concerned sapphire eyes and sobbed. Delmira comforted Mary and gently sang an old warrior song. Mary recognized the song, her mother had sung it to her whenever she was sad or lonely. The song was normally sung to comfort the half-wolves who had lost loved ones in battle. The soft and soothing words comforted Mary and calmed her. She listened to the chorus and relaxed in Delmira's embrace.

Silent as the moon dawns, shall your sorrows fade. Don't worry about the past. Don't dwell in the yesterday. Heal all that is lost, save my hurting heart.

Come, lie within the walls of comfort and rest your torn soul. Close your eyes, rest my child. All that's lost shall be remembered.  This is my warrior's sigh...

Delmira finished the song and Mary looked up at her. She was magnificent, her soft fur danced in the small breeze and the snowflakes in her fur shimmered like diamonds. "Delmira? Thank you," was all Mary could utter. Delmira rested her head on Mary's and sighed softly, "You miss your mother don't you? Would you like to know what happened that day?" Mary felt her heart beating faster in her chest, Ba-dump Ba-dump Ba-dump. "Yes please Delmira."
