Time flew by and soon 2 weeks had passed. The Boss called another meeting but this time Mary was asked if she could please stay downstairs while they discussed the matter. "Please sir, let her stay," pleaded Meg. "I will make my decision tonight and inform you all in the morning, you're dismissed," replied The Boss.
"So? What happened?"Mary asked curiously. "We have to wait for the Boss's decision tomorrow morning," sighed Liam glumly. "I hope you can stay, it's been so much nicer having another girl around," smiled Meg.
The sun shone brightly through Mary's curtains. Mary was already awake though and was worried that this was her last day. 'I hope it isn't,' she sighed to herself.
"EVERYONE GET UP THE BOSS WANTS US IN THE MEETING ROOM!! HE'S GONNA MAKE HIS DECISION!!" yelled Liam from his room. "Oh today's the day!" replied Meg as she sprung off her bed and sprinted to the meeting room to claim her purple chair first. Jake flew past her as she entered the room. He sat on the blue sofa. Mary just walked to her little yellow cushion again and sat down. Liam was last in the room so he just sat on the floor with an annoyed grunt. The Boss sat proudly on his sofa. "Right I have made my decision. No arguments or moans. My decision stands," said The Boss in a mighty voice that allowed no questioning. They all sat silently waiting for the news that could bring joy or horror. "I have decided that Mary Jane Lupus may stay with us," smiled The Boss triumphantly.
They all let out a sigh of relief and Meg swooped Mary up in a hug. "YES!" they yelled together. "All right, all right. Time to get out the meeting room now. Go celebrate you scalawags," smiled The Boss.
"Where are we going to celebrate?" questioned Jake. "Good question, lets run to the Little Creek restaurant not far from here!" replied Liam excitedly. "Okay let me grab my purse first," said Meg. Meg had been working at the clothes shop next to Little Creek restaurant to earn some money to help with the rent and earn her keep. Jake had already been working for a year at the games store around the corner from Meg. Not many people lived in this area, but the ones that lived here knew everyone and were always ready to hand out smiles to everyone they saw. Liam on the other hand wasn't working and hadn't even been looking for job opportunities, as usual. Liam was extremely lazy.
"Ok lets go!" yelled Jake when he saw Meg exiting the cottage. They left the cottage and ran through the familiar path through the woods to the area where the restaurant was.
"We're here," said Meg happily. "We should have just used The Boss's car," moaned Liam panting heavily and leaning on Jake. "Aww get off me you big lump!" protested Jake, shrugging Liam off him. "Talk about being cranky," Liam muttered under his breath.
They all stood at the entrance, delicious smells floated on the air around them. Crispy chicken, fried chips, glazed doughnuts, mini cakes and lots more invited them inside.
Mary couldn't believe she had a new home. 'I love this place!' she thought to herself excitedly as she sat down on the bench waiting for a waiter. "Hello, my name is Amy and I'll be serving you today." Smiled a cheerful lady. Her blond bob complimented her blue plaid shirt and mini black skirt. "Hi." smiled Meg," May I please have one soda." "Can I have a toffee milkshake," blurted Liam. "I'll have one espresso please," murmured Jake. "And I'd like a triple chocolate milkshake please," ended Mary. "Sure thing," said Amy while writing down their orders.
It wasn't long and Meg was paying the bill for their meal.
