Day 2: Art Museum
*cries in mental breakdown*
Hey guys, so it's the second day and I'm already losing it. I'm super busy with school projects and stuff :') So sadly this oneshot is gonna have to be a bit short (hope you understand)

Narrator's POV
Mitsuha combed her hair as the summer breeze swept through her and the town she lives in. Or should I say, where she now lives in. Unfortunately, a meteor shower struck her hometown so her family had to move somewhere else. Thankfully it calmed down, and everyone was at peace.
The girl fixed herself as she prepared to leave for a hang out with her friend, Taki. Taki's usually an average guy, but the way that they met was an... interesting experience at best. They got to know each other more when Mitsuha moved into his neighborhood and got along ever since.
"Hey, where are you going?" Yotsuha, Mitsuha's little sister, asked as she was about to leave the door. "Heading out to see a friend, that's all," Mitsuha answered. "Lemme guess, your boyfriend Taki, right?" her little sister guessed, making Mitsuha blush a little by the response. "I told you already, he's just a friend!" her sister said back. Yotsuha didn't reply to the answer, but told her, "Okay, but you better be back soon. Alright?" "I promise," Mitsuha said, as she left the house.
She walked along the streets of her new neighborhood. Being in a new place will take her a while, but she'll get used to it. A tall boy about her age stood idly on the streets, probably waiting for someone. Apparently the boy was Taki, and he slowly approached Mitsuha walking towards her. "So, ready to go?" he asked her. "Oh heck yes!" she exclaimed. So they walked the streets together in peace.
At the Museum
The museum wasn't crowded, but it had a few people admiring the portraits and other works of art, and two of those few people were Taki and Mitsuha. Rooms were filled with all sorts of art that people looked at ranging from ones from the Middle Ages to ones in our modern generation. Mitsuha saw each and every one of these pieces of art as amazing masterpieces. Taki, on the other hand, didn't really care about it. But he still went out with her to make her feel happy.
"...why are these things important?" Taki asked bluntly. "Are you kidding me? These masterpieces define our very culture coming from way far into the past and into our future!" Mitsuha continued to ramble on about how important art is and how it defines their culture and...you get the idea. But he let her continue, since he was a nice guy and he didn't want to interrupt her.
The rest of the day went well, they explored the museum, found a place to eat and basically had fun together. Taki got a bit bored and the two played around the museum before almost getting caught. Thankfully, they didn't get in trouble.
As the day went on, Mitsuha and Taki walked through the corridors and rooms that filled this huge museum. After a few moments of silence, Mitsuha spotted a doorway that led to art for astronomy. She was excited about this, and wanted to go inside.
"Hey,look! An astronomy room!" she said as she walked towards the door. Taki got a little startled by this, and that's because of something related to the meteor shower that struck Mitsuha's home. "Come on! Let's go inside!" his friend said, completely oblivious to his reaction as she pulled him by the arm. Well too late now, he's gotta suck in all that trauma without her knowing!
(*coffcoff* Your Name *coffcoff*)
They entered the room, finding many new displays they haven't found yet. A few people were also in the room, looking at the wonders of the masterpieces that hung on the walls. Some artworks featured planets, stars, galaxies, and other stuff you could find in space. Mitsuha gasped at the works in wonder, since she loves astronomy.
Walking through the room of art was like experiencing space itself! Everything looked so realistic and beautiful, but that's what made Taki more nervous as they went along.
But a little while later, Mitsuha saw a painting that was unlike the others.
Above the painting was filled with tiny dots of stars, and below that was bright yellow surrounded by clouds, almost looking like the sun. But the main thing about the painting was two comets, one blue and one red, spiraling down into the bright floor looking as if the two comets connected.
Now that, that was the thing that broke him. Taki trembled at the sight of the painting, trying to keep tears from falling down his face. Mitsuha finally noticed his behavior, and was concerned. "Hey Taki, you okay-" but before she could finish her sentence, he ran out of the room and straight to the exit, leaving Mitsuha confused.
Outside
Rain started pouring when Taki ran outside the museum. People were trying to find shelter from the rain, but he only stood idly as he stared at his reflection from a puddle below him. Fortunately, he wasn't the only one outside.
"Taki, are you alright?" Mitsuba asked again, this time with an umbrella she borrowed from the museum. Taki didn't respond, and just continued staring at his reflection. "Is there something wrong? If that's the case it's fine, I forgive you, even if it doesn't have to do with me," she said, placing a hand on Taki's back.
But in a split second, Taki hugged the girl as tightly as he could and cried softly. Mitsuha comforted him as he wept. "Hey, it's gonna be okay," she assured him. He knew it would be okay, but he still couldn't forget what happened. What if she discovers that he almost killed her? He didn't want to know, but the least he could do is be in the comforting moment.
