Elizabeth

"Do you think it isn't a scam?" I asked while climbing in the tiled stair and wiping my phone's camera. Behind me is Wallace, following my steps.

"Ay gago." I cursed when I purposely leap and skipped one stair and it made me almost slipped. Glad, Wallace is fast to hold me in my arms, refraining me from a total fall. My chest is banging so loud because of the mini heart attack, but it wasn't a hindrance to stop me from laughing because of my stupidity.

"What if you fell and lost your life? What if it deprived the both us to witness the meteor shower together?" Wallace seriously dropped his hands out of my arms. I was baffled by the way his brows met and his expression became anxious. But of infusing myself with confusion, I just covered it with my laugh.

"You look so fretted, Wallace." I chuckled and placed my phone inside my pocket.

"I am, Eli."

When I finally opened the rooftop's door, wind then blew my hair so I immediately got my scrunchy from my wrist and bun my hair. I don't know if it's really cold or no but, I found my arms hugging myself.

"Are you cold?" He asked. I immediately shook my head as my first response.

"Nope, I am Eli." Biro ko.

I looked above the sky and I wasn't able to release words because of what I am witnessing tonight. My eyes glistened and my mouth is half opened due to the astonishment I am feeling tonight.

"Wallace, look..." I coaxed.

Red's chuckle halted as he finally looked up. Like me, his mouth opened with wonder. Remembering about documenting, I had a rapid move to on my phone's camera and pressed the red button to start recording the view. I made sure that the camera is clear and focused so nothing will be wasted.

While holding the camera, my bare eyes went back to the sky and let it savour the outlook. Because like what Wallace had said yesternight, I should also let my bare eyes witness the beaut of the moment.

"Kailan ko kaya kayo makikita ulit? Will I still be able to see you again?" I whispered as smiled bitterly beyond the bluish sky, the twinkling stars, the passing meteors.

My gaze traveled to Wallace who's busy videoing the moment too. But his eyes, his eyes are so focused and on what's happening above. Looking at his eyes, I saw the reflection of the two meteors passed at the same time and those made the eyes of Wallace glimmered.

"I hope this kind of episode of my life will stay. Where I am beyond beaming stars and amazing meteor shower, and beside me is a wonderful being." He stated. I felt heat on my cheeks together with an uncanny tingling feeling on my stomach.

I gulped as I release chuckles, trying to ignore the feeling. I am not dumb, I know why people feels this way. By thinking of it, I was alarmed. I shook my head as I closed my eyes tightly and released a deep breathe.

You can't be attached to him, Eli. It wasn't in your wish list.

"Eli," he called. I want to punch myself for panicking as I look into him. Natawa naman siya sa akin kaya hindi ko maiwasang mas lalong maramdaman ang mga iyon. And now, my heart is pounding too fast as if I was being chased.

Well, I really am. Chased by time.

I didn't released a word and just hummed because I might stutter.

"Sana sa susunod na pagkakataon, on the next meteor shower, sana ikaw pa'rin ang kasama ko."
