Jasmine's POV

I couldn't believe those words had just come out of Sari's mouth. They replayed in my head over and over again. Was I really that bad of a mother?

Walking into my fathers study I saw Aladdin and my cousin sitting in front of him. "What's going on?"

"Okay so these people have been around for years, but they're ghosts, only seen when they see what they want in reach."

"Okay, and?"

Aladdin sighed, "They want you Jasmine,"

"Me? But why—"

"You're the eldest and a direct link to your mothers bloodline, and you're here which makes you the easiest target," My father said.

"They've been terrorizing the city for even more than twenty years and I'm guessing with you here they saw their chance and came back out of the shadows... which is why now's the perfect time to fight back, but we need a reason for them to resurface again." My cousin responded.

"I'm sorry I don't follow?" Turning to Aladdin I noticed him brushing his hair back, one of his nervous traits.

"They want you to play bait so they can catch them."

"What?"

"Please Jasmine, its the only way to ensure the city can go back to normal. These people have been here for close to 30 years they're not going to stop." My cousin looked up at me. "If this was Agrabah I'd do this for you... I know how much you care about your people, I care about mine as well."

"I—I don't know, I have a kingdom,  I have a family I can't just..." Sighing I looked down as I remembered the past hour. Sari probably hated me, Aladdin and I were fighting, it didn't feel like I had much to lose. "Do you promise to have people there to get me out of there as soon as possible?" I noticed Al's facial expression shift.

"Jasmine you can't—"

"I promise," My cousin interrupted.

"Then fine, what do I have to do?"

"You can't actually be considering this—" Aladdin said once again.

"Just relax for today and be ready tomorrow morning." My cousin nodded. "Thank you Jasmine, this means everything!"

"Sure, uhh I guess I'll be going then," I quickly walked out until I felt a tug on my arm.

"You're crazy if you think I'm letting you go put there Jasmine," Aladdin said seriously.

"It is what it is Aladdin, if the roles were reversed I'm sure Aadil would do the same thing,"

"Yeah except he doesn't have children of his own,"

"The kids will be alright because I will be alright, and if I'm not... they've done well without me before, besides Sari apparently doesn't need me anymore so..."

"Shes 15 Jasmine, we've all said things we didn't mean."

"Oh she meant this," I rolled my eyes, "Whatever, I need sometime to myself so please just leave me alone."

"We never finished our discussion," he cleared his throat.

"Theres nothing to discuss."

"Well I have things to discuss, are those your actual feelings?" I turned the other way, "Well are they?"

"I don't know Aladdin. Maybe they are? Maybe its the anger speaking, I just know we have stuff to fix and we're clearly not fixing so what if its just... irreparable?"
