§Morgana Acampora§

"Where are you taking me?" I leaned back on the seat and let out a deep sigh.

"Como," he told.

My right eyebrow arched "Why? The residence is in the city."

"Your dad sold that house and bought the one by the lake against your mother's wishes," Eros said with a chuckle.

A soft smile appeared on my lips "Then I'm excited to see this new home."

"It's a lavish villa."

"I bet–" something wasn't clicking in my mind; if he was at the house, how did he get back to the city so fast to come and get me. "Wait, what were you doing in the city? Weren't you supposed to be at the house?"

"No," he shook his head with his eyes on the road. "I was buying some gifts for my cousin, her birthday is next week; she's turning 18."

"It should be a fun year for her, finding herself and friends that will be in her life forever." My hands fell to my stomach "Wish her a happy birthday for me."

"I'm a little worried about that," he let out a deep sigh. "I'll shoot down whoever hurts her."

A soft smile appeared on my lips "She's lucky to have someone who loves her that much. Is it hard to shoot a gun?"

Eros glanced at me "Why is that of your concern?"

"I told you that crime is alluring to me."

"It's a dangerous life, Morgana," he smiled softly at the road. "I'm not proud of what I do."

"Then why are you still in it?" My temple was against the window.

"I've taken the life of people in high places; leaving and having a normal life isn't an option for me. Too many people want me dead."

"That makes me feel so safe," my eyes fell close since the movement of the car was at fault for the heightened dizziness taking over me.

"I care about your life, Morgana, there are people taking care of us. Just because you can't see them it doesn't mean they're not there."

"Mhhh," a whimper left my mouth. "Eros, could you stop the car?"

"Sure," the car slowly came to a halt. I quickly unbuckled my seatbelt and hopped off, clutching my stomach "What's wrong, Morgana?" He asked, getting off the car.

"The movement of the car made me dizzy," my hands fell on the hood of the vehicle as I took deep breaths, trying to push away the sick feeling.

"I'll slow down," his hand was on my back as he rubbed it gently.

"I have some Dramamine in my bag, could you give me one? Please."

"Sure," I heard his movements and out of nowhere he grabbed my hand to place the pill in it. "Here and the water too."

I stood up straight and took a deep breath before opening my eyes "I'm sorry, it must be the long train ride or the gelato was too much for my stomach," I placed the pill in my mouth and took the water from his hand to take a big sip of the liquid.

"Slow down, Morgana," he gripped my biceps gently and locked eyes with me. "Take a deep breath."

I inhaled a big breath of air through my mouth and let it out through my nose which helped very little "You should get out of the way in case I puke."
