§Eros Iacovone§
"We can stay at a hotel if this makes you uncomfortable, Morgana," I told nervously, standing in front of the queen-size bed. "Or I'll sleep in the living room."
She shook her head "It's fine as long as you are comfortable with me using you as a body pillow," the girl showed me a reassuring smile.
I nodded "Whatever you need to be comfortable," my eyes were on her as she removed the leather coat before placing it on the bed. "If it makes you more comfortable, I'll go to a hotel but you stay here."
My right eyebrow arched "Why would you think I'm uncomfortable?"
Morgana chuckled "Your face when everyone kept on asking if we are a thing."
I approached her, shaking my head "I'm just worried they'll overwhelm you."
"This house is filled with love, Eros," she grinned. "They care so much about you and are so interested in knowing everything about your life; it's so new to me and you're extremely lucky."
The way she says it, with such longing in her voice and sadness in her eyes; she doesn't have a good family and I'm here complaining about my great one "You're right, Morgana but neither of us is leaving. Now, do you want to take a nap or come downstairs to help with the food?"
"Food," she immediately replied.
"Perfect," I gripped the handle of the door and opened in for her. "After–" my smile was quickly erased by the sight of my mom and aunt with empty glasses in their hands. "Ci stavi spiando?"
(Were you spying on us?)
My mom shook her head "Stavamo solo portando un po 'di limonata per voi due ma non volevamo interrompere, quindi l'abbiamo bevuta," this woman thinks faster than lightning hits which makes it believable.
(We were just bringing some lemonade for you two but didn't want to interrupt so we drank it.)
"Mi dispiace di averti fatto aspettare," Morgana told. "Eros mi ha detto che stai preparando il pranzo quindi se hai bisogno di aiuto non esitare a chiedere." She's amazing at Italian.
(I'm sorry we kept you waiting. Eros told me you're making lunch so if you need any help don't hesitate to ask.)
"We are making pasta alla Norma," my aunt stated with a smile. "You can help us with the sauce and aubergines but we are not starting until nonna Catalina is done with the pasta; my husband's mother is really bossy and she doesn't like anyone in la cucina when she's making pasta."
(the kitchen)
My mom and aunt were born fifteen years apart from each other which makes my mamma is 58 and aunt 43; they get along amazingly as if they were twins "Please feel free to relax until then," my mom told, reaching for Morgana's right hand.
