Y/N POV
It's been a week since Frank proposed and we have low-key celebrated it every night since then, if you get what I'm hinting at. Wink wink.
Yes, even through those fun nights, taking care of the kids, and working our usual schedules, we have still managed to get everything for Miles' birthday ready. He's turning four today so we all - meaning Frank and I - managed to get up early enough to set up all the decorations.
"You know, we could have started this last night and then we wouldn't be up this early." I said through my yawn.
"And miss out on what happened last night? Hell no." Frank smirked. I threw a pack of balloons at his head, making both of us laugh. "You know you liked it."
"Oh, trust me, I never said I didn't." I chuckled.
"Besides, Christa and Ray are coming over soon anyway and what time did you say Gerard and Lindsey were coming?" He asked.
"Around nine. It's six-twenty right now." I replied, "I still don't understand why Ray and Christa get up this early. Sheesh, this is awful on a day off."
"Early-birds, I guess!" He shrugged, "But I told them to just come in when they get here so the doorbell doesn't wake the kids up."
"Good idea."
By the time Christa and Ray had gotten here, we had blown up seven ten-packs of balloons. The only reason we didn't do more was because we emptied the helium tanks we bought for them. There was still quite a bit to do, but that was a start.
"Holy shit, that's a lot of balloons." Ray gasped as he walked in.
"Seventy of them." I told him. "That's not even all of them, we just ran out of helium."
"You two are nuts." Christa giggled.
"Maybe a little bit, but it's fine! Crazy is fun, right?" Frank smiled.
"It's better than being boring." Ray agreed, "So what do you want us to do?"
"The banner needs hung along with the streamers! Ray, you're certainly tall enough for that. We'll get Frankie a ladder." I smirked, teasing my future-husband. "Then the outside one needs hung too, but we might be able to do it."
"Ouch, I'm offended." Frank acted sad for a moment, but couldn't manage to keep a straight face, "You're lucky I love you."
"I know. Now go!" I shooed them away, handing them the banner and streamers that needed to be hung. "Can you help me set up the tables outside?"
"Yeah, totally! Are they already out there?" Christa asked.
"Yep! So are the tablecloths." I answered. We walked to the back door, which led to a large wooden deck that looked over a beautiful landscape, as well as our own in-ground pool that we still haven't used.
"God, your house is so pretty!" Christa exclaimed. "I can't get over it."
"Well, you can visit it - and us - whenever you'd like." I grinned. "Especially when it's warm enough to use the pool."
"I may just have to take you up on that offer." We both chuckled as we walked over to where the tables sat.
Since it was a nice day today, we were having the small-party outside. Which means a lot of those seventy balloons had to be tied to the railings of the deck as well as the multiple tables being set up by us now.
