"Good work, everyone. It's getting late don't you think? Let's end here for the day shall we?"
A lean figure stood in the middle of the room, posture straight to show authority, and without batting an eye, there were immediate responses from the other students. Or rather, the student council, who packed their school bags to end their commenced meeting.
It was a cloudy afternoon, the clouds darkened that covered the rowdy entranceway while students from their club gatherings rushed to go home one by one before unlucky ones would face the harsh rain. Meanwhile, one student who seemed appealing can be seen walking down the hallways quietly by himself, his tuft of hair swaying as he walked. Lips pressed to a soft line and eyes focused forward while his hands carefully gripped the strap of his schoolbag.
The student walked for quite some time until he reached the entrance doors to the gateway of the school. Where he spotted a familiar group of students he'd been with in the student council room. He absentmindedly pursed his lips in confusion and as someone who is partially responsible for the student body, he decided to approach them with knowing ease.
By doing so, one of the students noticed him approaching and nudged the others. "Hey, it's [last name]. Hello there!"
Everyone in the said group perked up from the name and turned their heads to the familiar student walking up to them with a friendly wave. Some of them waved back while some greeted him with the same enthusiasm. Who wouldn't greet the representative school president; a famous student who is known for his exceedingly wonderful reputation in the campus'.
You, the president of the Student Council; [m.name] [last name].
"What are you guys still doing here?" You asked with a curious brow, without any hint of strictness but simply a friendly question. "I must remind you all that it'll rain soon, so I hope you brought your umbrellas." Now there was a hint of concern laced in your voice.
"Oh, we were going out to that famous cafe that opened nearby the station. If you don't mind, we'd love it if you could come join us..." A girl's voice gently chimed in, and you realized it was the council's secretary who's in the same class as you. She was smiling so sweetly with a strand of her hair hooked around her finger. You'd feel bad to even deny her invitation since she's been inviting you out a couple of times now. Oddly enough, through another student's request.
But you have other matters to attend to.
You sighed and apologetically declined her invitation in the nicest way possible. Genuinely, a pat on her shoulder and a sweet smile to everyone sufficed. "I'm sorry, but I really have to head home straight away. Maybe next time?"
Everyone grunted in disappointment yet again. And the girl nodded softly with a smile in understanding as you looked at her apologetically once again. Whenever this happens, you always feel guilty. Now you worry if you're neglecting your time to socialize outside the school non-academically. But there are other personal matters that you have to currently worry about.
You looked at the watch on your wrist. The time's ticking as you divert your attention back to the group of students. "I better go ahead, take care everyone!" With a waved hand, you bid your goodbyes to them and walked away in a rush.
