Boss Battles

Chapter 7

The 4 decided to spend the night at Jay's arena since she had a shelter there. It was pouring outside so Jay invited them in. They all sat in 1 room and Themy made more sleeping bags for everyone. Alfred however, while the other 3 were sleeping, decided to head outside on the porch. Jay woke up to him leaving and decided to see what he was up to.

Alfred sat down on a chair and looked out into the distance and saw the next arena. It was David's arena. David's arena was more compact due to his style and powers. It was about a 30 minute walk across a long and sturdy bridge. Alfred knew that David would be preparing for their arrival. He also knew that David was prepared to lose.

Jay peeked her head out and saw Alfred sitting on the chair. She decided to sit on the chair next to him and spend time with him. She wondered what was going on in his mind so she decided to ask him. "Alfred what's wrong? You seemed troubled lately." Alfred slowly looked over to her and the emptiness in his eyes eventually filled with sadness. He then leaned his head on Jay which caught her by surprise.

Jay recovered from the sudden motion and looked at Alfred. She noticed that he was crying and sweating. Asking what was wrong, Jaylyn gave Alfred a hug and a kiss on the forehead to comfort him. He kept saying 'don't go' over and over again. Jay was puzzled at first until she remembered the fight earlier.

Not wanting to see him in more pain, she hummed a song in her head. She hummed the tune of 'You are my Sunshine' which calmed him down. "It's okay, I'm not going anywhere now. You're safe with me." She said to reassure him.

At that moment Alfred calmed down and looked visibly relaxed. He then let the weight of exhaustion catch up to him as he quickly fell asleep in her arms. Jay was surprised on how tired he was as he just fell asleep. Not wanting to leave him alone, She picked him up with her telekinesis powers and brought him inside.

She decided to lay him on her bed that she had because it was more comfortable. She got in bed with him and gave him a quick peck on the forehead before going to sleep herself. Alfred shuffled around a bit before pulling her closer to him and went back to sleep. Tomorrow is another day.
