What the- what is going on?

Within seconds, Tanjirou was beyond dumbfounded to register the whole situation in his mind. He saw a flutter of butterflies went through a window from the rooftop, flying down to reach for Kanao.

They have Kanao surrounded and what shocked Tanjirou the most is the way they insects gave off lights from their bodies to attract Kanao. The Flower Hashira seemed to have the same expression as Tanjirou now.

Butterflies... did Kanao summon them all here? For what reason?

While for Kanao, her shoulders tensed up when a butterfly settled gracefully on her head. Kaburamaru was about to slither up and shoo the creature away if it wasn't because of Kanao who asked him to stay still.

Kaburamaru hissed in alarm, once he saw Kanao raised her hand up.

"Calm down, Kaburamaru. I want to know..." why are they all here? What do they want? Kanao expressed that in her heart as she watched a pink butterfly fly lower to rest on her index finger.

"Tell me, what brings you and your friends here?" Kanao's voice flowed out a bit cracked. She almost jerked back frightened when the insect actually responded to her.

"Flower Hashira, Tsuyuri-sama."

"... uh yes, I'm listening." It took a lot of effort for her to remain calm at this moment. Really, a talking insect just confronted her. Is that a normal thing?

"We're very sorry for being this rude to you. This is an emergency message from Kochou-sama, you have to go to the forest behind this estate. Keep heading north and you'll find a small cottage where a small family lives. My friends and I predicted one of the family members has disguised as a demon and planning to eat the whole family tonight."

And the insect just told her that they're doing this because of Shinobu's order, Kanao had doubts. Slight doubts about it.

But if it's true, then the family would be in a grave danger.

"You must set out now before dawn, or else it'll be too late for the family."

Kanao ignored the doubts she had in mind and turned to Kaburamaru who was hearing the whole conversation calmly. She stroked the snake's small head and whispered.

"Do me a favour, Kaburamaru." Kanao crouched down, letting Kaburamaru to use her left arm to get off from her shoulders. "Tell Nee-chan that I'll be off now and come back by tomorrow morning. You should stay here and take care of Aoi."

*hiss! hiss!
Kaburamaru flinched at the last order, he was saying 'what!? why should I take care of her? let me go with you!' and Kanao understood his demanding hisses right away.
