A FEW HOURS AGO
Sanemi was resting, his eyes closed, his head on the lap of his beloved, Kochou Kanae, who for some magical reasons, appearing before him in her soul form- meant to be vanished and returned when the time for her visiting the living realm ended. They both took shelter in the veranda of Sanemi's house, basking in the beauty of the dusk and waiting for the moon to flex its full shape.
Kanae was playing with his hair for some time now, stating that how she loved the softness of his white strands and how they tickled her palms in a very adorable way- Sanemi never thought of his own hair as soft or adorable or in any positive manner, he was just grateful that he hadn't gotten bald over the recent years. His students(specifically the Hamada siblings) had given him a lot of headaches, thankfully not to the point of driving him to shave all of his head.
Her gentle fingers ran over his scalp back and forth, purposely messing with his hair even more, and they got tangled into complicated knots that would go far beyond a normal bed hair. She studied his current state with those pale set of violet eyes, and chuckled- feeling very entertained by her own work of art.
"You look so unkempt now, Shinazugawa-san." Kanae said between chuckles.
Sanemi opened his one eye to peer at her reaction, "And whose fault is that?" His voice sound gruff yet filled with affection.
"But you're still effortlessly handsome, it feels unfair." She pouted this time, earning a dumbfounded look from him in return.
"Nonsense," he said without much hesitation, his eyes fully opened albeit a bit drowsy from the short nap he took earlier.
"Shinazugawa-san?" Kanae called out to him in a dreamy tone, her smile seemed seductive from Sanemi's point of view. "Can I lean down?"
Sanemi was pretty much unfazed by her request, in this lying position he kept his cool perfectly in a refined place. His poker face didn't budge an inch.
He held out his right hand, still refusing to shift from Kanae's comforting lap, "Lean down."
Kanae smiled shyly in his direction, her cheeks flaring red as she leaned down and kissed Sanemi on the lips. They stayed like that for a couple of seconds, messily poking each other's tongues before breaking away. She gave him a tiny peck on the nose after that, and he cracked a faint smile for her.
"I love your kisses, Shinazugawa-san." She spoke from the bottom of her heart, enough to summon butterflies into Sanemi's stomach.
Sanemi blinked up at her, sighing audibly through his nose and mouth- proving his bliss at this moment of honour.
"And I love you, Kanae." He said, not blinking to savour the look of genuine surprise on Kanae's sweet, sweet face.
"You... can be too direct sometimes, that's so adorable." Kanae leaned down again and rubbed the tip of his nose with hers, waiting for his usual 'nonsense' comment but this time, he didn't respond to her.
He simply stared at her longer than before, smiling softly and signalling her to let him borrow her right hand. Their palms fit perfectly with Sanemi's big one enclosing protectively around Kanae's petite-featured hand.
