Review:
Are you patient? Are you really really patient? Are you ready to fully dedicate your attention and leave all the unearthly thoughts while watching? And one last question, are you really that patient? If you answered yes to all four questions without lying to yourself, then you can wholeheartedly appreciate this show to its utmost.
Few minutes into the show and I was instantly hooked. But, this is not the type of anime that you'll understand by just watching it on one sitting, you need to take a break and think for a moment after an episode or two. This is not a no-brainer show, and the information dump can be overwhelming and you'll be like: "lady, hold your horses and slow down" for sometime. This anime is the one that you will think about for days after watching it, it is a thought-provoking show that tackles about the sinister nature of humans. The show also depicts issues in their society that can also be observed in ours. This is not a show for kids since there is a bunch of uncomfortable themes present and there are topics that are far from what their comprehension could grasp.
The world-building of the show is great and if you are going to watch this show, know that you are entering a completely different and new world, that's why it's fine to be confused sometime, but not all the time; you've already sworn your attention. Through every episode, you are slowly being introduced to their world.
The soundtrack of the show is really good, it makes the dystopian atmosphere of the show. I also heard and read a lot of reviews about the show regarding its art where most of them didn't like, but for me, I think the art is great and it fits with the dark fantasy theme of the show.
If you are in to watch a psychological, dark fantasy, thriller, and a new kind of dystopian show where it's not cyberpunk, this show is perfect for you. Try watching the first episode, and I dare you not to be hooked in the first few seconds.
