Chapter 22

" I should get going." Luke said getting up from the bed we've been sitting on for hours now.
" Yeah. What time is it?" I asked more to myself than to him
" passed 7." He answered.
" Are you for real? Wheres my mum?" I said getting up and going down stairs to see if my mum was there.
Luke following closely behind.
After looking around my house, I found out my mum actually was there. But she was on the floor crying.
" Mum what's wrong?" I asked kneeling down next to her and hugging her.
" Mo-Molly, Gramma Molly, she- she's sick. A-And I ha-Have to go take care of her. " she said stuttering with almost every word.
" Mum but Gramma Molly lives in Miami. We can't go all the way there now. " I said confused
" Y-Your staying Em. You need to go to school and you don't have to be over there worrying. I'm going, f-for a couple weeks. " she said
" Oh. " I said
" I'm sorry. I have to do this though. My flight is tomorrow morning, you can stay here, obviously. " she said wiping her tears and getting up.
Luke stretched out a hand to me, to help me up I guess.
I took it.
" I apologize for having to see me like this Luke. " my mum chuckled
" It's okay Mrs. Miller. Sorry about your mum." Luke said.
My mum nodded. " I should start my luggage."
I nodded.

* 2 hours later*
After the news about my mum, we watched a movie to get my mind of of things.
We where cuddled up close when Luke got up and stretched.
" How about that tutor session?" Luke asked
" No!" I protested
" Yes, I haven't tutored you in like a week." He said raising his eyebrows.
" So? I'm doing fine, plus, we don't have school tomorrow. It's like, teacher work day or something." I said shrugging.
" Yeah, but we have a test Tuesday. " he said pulling me towards the stairs.
" Ugh fine. But you take my bags up the stairs." I said grabbing my book bag and handing it over to Luke.
He laughed " Oh my god! It's so heavy!" He faked not being able to bring it up.
I laughed at his bad acting and grabbed his hand pulling him up.
I jumped on my bed and put my face against the pillow.
" Oh hold up I got a text. " I said after I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket.
I pulled out my phone and saw that I got a text from Ash. I smiled to myself.
Hello! - Ash
Hiii!!! - me
Wyd - ash
With luke studying. Or about to study haha - me
Oh - ash
Yeah - me
" hurryyyyy! " Luke said pouting
I have to go. Bye! - me
Bye- ash
" who was that?" Luke asked after I put my phone back in my pocket and sat up.
" Ash. " I answered smiling
He nodded. But seemed to be bothered by something.
" what's wrong?" I asked
" what- nothing! what makes you think something is wrong?" He said quickly, too quickly.
I scoffed.
" whatever." I said
" okay let's start. It's a science test, you like science right?" He asked
" I love science. You don't have to tutor me in science already know it all." I smirked
" oh yeah?"he asked crossing his arms over his chest.
"Yeah" I said crossing my arms over my chest as well.
" okay so you wouldn't mind me testing you on chapter 3 lesson 4?" He asked smirking
" nope!" I said popping the P.
He scoffed.
He asked me stuff about the whole chapter, which I knew since science is the only class I like.
I smirked when he finished
" see! I told you!" I said
" yeah yeah." He said dismissing the conversation.
" what's time is it now?" I asked.
He looked at his phone and his eyes widened.
" what, what happened." I asked.
" it's 10:30, I was suppose to be home at 9 to eat with the boys." He asked getting up and putting his shoes on.
" Oh." I said
He got all his stuff and practically ran out of my room.
But came back less than 10 seconds later.
" Bye, I'm sorry, text me. I love you" he said rushed.
But then came running back. His eyes wide
" I didn't mean to say the end oh my god bye." He said rushing out.
" bye." I said but he was already out of the door and running towards his car.
I shrugged and went down stairs, sitting on the couch.
" what happened to Luke, he ran out of here like if there where bunch of lions chasing him. " my mum said sitting down next to me.
I chuckled.
" he was an hour late to a diner he had."
" Oh wait you didn't eat diner right? I made myself some salad so I'm good, do you want anything?" She asked looking over at me
" no I'm good."
" I'm sorry I told you about leaving in such late notice. But I found out last night when you where sleeping, but then they called me today at around 6 telling me that I should fly over because she was in terrible condition. " she said, her eyes pricked with tears.
" it's okay. I'll miss you loads." I said hugging her tight.
"Yeah, me too, trust me. I'm tired, I'm going to sleep, I might not see you tomorrow, I leave at 6 AM from here, the flights at 9. So bye, I love you, be safe, no parties." She eyed me on the last one before laughing.
" I love you. Good night!" I said hugging for the last time in probably a couple weeks.
She headed upstairs.
I decided on wether or not to watch a movie, and so I did.
I put on titanic and payed down on the couch.
It took me 35 minutes into the movie to realize what he said before he left.
Luke loves me?
