The whole building started to shake, I took this as my chance I was about to push Uther when he went flying backwards. I kicked the door in and saw Colby, there was a vampire standing over him and my stomach dropped. I can't be too late, it's only been a minute. I let out a bloodcurdling scream and everything but Colby goes flying in different directions, the vampire comes running back towards him but with a flick of my wrist she turns to dust. I don't know what's going on, why I suddenly have all these powers? But I like it.

'The powers will be rewarded when the light vampire needs them most, they should be used to protect the legacy and the ones you love...'

I rush to Colby and check him for any bite marks, I can't have him hate himself for something that is my fault. I should've just killed Uther, then everything would be okay but it's not and that's my fault.

"Becky..."

I look down at him and see his eyes only slightly open.

"Your alive."

"Yes Quin I am..."

"Did she bite you?"

"No, she was about to then the whole building started to shake."

I felt a tear slip down my cheek, I'm happy I actually saved him. I couldn't have him become the thing he hates the most.

"What have you done?!?"

I turn and see Uther, I crack my knuckles and bite my lip.

"Becky I'll handle him."

"You stay on the floor I've got this one."

"Does he know? Should we tell him together?"

"Fuck off Uther, just go now and maybe I won't kill you."

"You can't kill me because then you'll be kill yourself too."

I heard Colby gasp but I blocked it out.

"Stay away from me Uther."

"No it's my duty to protect you."

"What if I don't need protecting anymore! I'm not a child!"

"That doesn't matter, I'll always be with you. You can never escape me, if you die I die."

"Maybe I'm ready for that."

"Wha~"

I fire lit in my hand and the flames snaked around my fingers, his eyes went wide as he watched the flames rise higher. I closed my hand and the flames went out.

"Just know this Uther you are as good as dead."

"Ho~"

We both screamed in unison as I felt something sharp pierce my skin.

"Colby?"

"I'm sorry I had to..."

Blood gushed over my fingers as I fell to the floor.

"You stabbed me?"

I raised my hand and sent Colby backwards into the wall.

"How could you do this to me?"

Flames circled me as I slowly got to my feet.

"Because you're a vampire."
