Chapter Three

Todoroki watched the news silently. He had a feeling he knew Dabi. He had a feeling he knew exactly who Dabi was. He stayed silent. In fact, he supported his brother. His brother was rising against people like their father. He kept his face stone.

"That quirkless scum thinks he can change anything?" His father was fuming, literally. Of course he was focusing on the quirkless one - Deku. "Quirkless are just a hindrance to society." Todoroki stayed silent.

Todoroki was thinking, mainly. He still kept an ear out for his father, in case he decided to test his reflexes. (He still had the scar on his back). Maybe I could help...

He thought about how he could help the movement in the quirk discrimination that happens all over the world. Then it hit him, he could smuggle information on the inner workings of the hero world, and exactly how they are reacting.

It could work. He decided that he wanted to do it. He could be part of his fathers downfall. That was a nice touch.

He set to work on finding out where they were. He knew that they probably originated in Hosu. It was a large circle to work with, but a lot better than just 'Japan'. He couldn't shrink the circle from that, though. The news station that they took over was a large one that was broadcast all over. He knew they chose that one for the people to see them.

Still, he had information. He could use it. He hacked into the security camera, and watched what happened. He saw that the people were very obviously trained. They took each of the people down with precision, and did it quickly. They didn't do any extra damage, which only powered the fact that they were good people.

He analyzed how they moved, and everything that he could about them. He didn't get that much that day, but he knew that he had better footing than a lot more people. So, he went to sleep satisfied with his discoveries.

Their next mission was a drug bust. They had a whole container of quirk performance drugs, and it would be bad for everyone if it got into the wrong hands. That was the next week. During this time they decided to come up with a group name. After a lot of discussion they came up with the name 'Rejects'.

They showed up and stayed in the shadows. They watched waiting for the people to show up and for the trade. Toga and Shigiraki went first, followed by Hitoshi and Shigraki. Midoriya was the last person in the trail.

There were eight people in all. They were a little more careful with them, because they knew that the people were better trained than they were, and they couldn't underestimate your enemy. Never.

Once the transaction began, they glanced at each other. They waited for the sound of the case opening before jumping in.

They put up a fight, but they were taken down after about a minute. Toga stole some of each of their blood, and stashed it for later jobs. They spray painted the word REJECTS on the wall where everyone was tied up.

Midoriya fished a phone out of the closest guy's pocket and unlocked it with his thumb. He called the cops, and said that there was a commotion at the area and that they should check it out. He hung up, dropping the phone. They were out the area as soon as the phone hit the ground.

Eraserhead was not happy. He was still grieving his son. He had to continue on, though. He had work to do. What he did not expect was to see that the police had been called over a serious thing. Over the past 2 weeks it had been things like, 'My cat is stuck in the tree,'. This was a serious concern.

When he showed up, there was a container filled with quirk enhancing drugs, and the people were tied up. 'REJECTS,' was spray painted onto the wall above them.

What happened here?

He thought back to the news broadcast that Hizashi had shoved into his face the previous week. A group of people had been standing up for the rejected in society. Eraserhead knew that what they did was illegal, but at the same time couldn't help but be supporting them. Especially Deku. He reminded him of Midoriya.

The funeral had been difficult. No one said much. He pretended that he wasn't crying and everyone pretended not to notice. He silently hoped that it wasn't Midoriya. That Midoriya was still okay, and out there somewhere. He hoped that this was all just a bad dream and that he would wake up to Midoriya excitedly waking him up.

It never happened.

Still, he reported what happened and went back home. He was done with his patrol for the night. He curled up next to Hizashi and Nemuri- who had been spending the night with them more and more- and tried to go to sleep.

--------------

They were sitting together at lunch, and enjoying each other's company. They all were just joking and playing Minecraft together. They weren't expecting a lot to happen at school. They were getting their actual education with Sensei, so there was really no point in paying that much attention.

"I'M GONNA PUNCH A NEW KID IN THE FACE!!!" was not something that they expected to be shouted two tables over. So, obviously, the entire lunch room went quiet as the same kid stood up and stomped over to their table.

"Hello?" Midoriya spoke up. There was no response, just a fist flying towards Midoriya's face. It was a blur of motion, and suddenly the kid was turned around and Toga, Dabi, Shigiraki, and Shinsou were moving Midoriya to the other side of the table.

No one was really sure what happened, but they all decided that the new kids were a force to be reckoned with, and that they all wanted the new kids on their side.

The rest of the day is just as quiet.

When they get home from school is when they start their training. They get a fifteen minute rest period, and then they start their physical training. Warm ups to start, then they learn sparring moves, lift weights, so on and so forth.

They finish their training, take turns taking showers, and have an hour of free time. They then work a little bit on planning, and then they have free time until the next day. School happens, rinse repeat.

They have been having a lot more trouble sleeping. A lot of nights they don't sleep at all. That was fine, as long as they had each other. They spent a lot of time in each others rooms. They would go to one of their rooms and spend the night there together. It was a lot easier if there were other people who understood fully what was happening.

They would make a little fort and watch t.v, play Mario Kart, play Mine Craft, anything to pass the time, really. While some of them drank coffee before, they all drank coffee now. It kept them up so that they could continue their work.

Still, it was difficult.

Their third job was on Wednesday. It was sooner than they expected, but they didn't show their surprise. They were going to be patrolling. This was also going to be part of their stealth training. Heroes were patrolling the streets, and they needed to stay off of the heroes radars. An added challenge, if you will. Along with each of their costumes was a utility belt. It held zip ties and spray paint. It was added because they decided that carrying around a bag was too time consuming.

They split up into two groups so that they could cover more ground. Toga and Dabi were in one, and Hitoshi, Shigiraki, and Midoriya were in another.

Hitoshi, Shigiraki, and Midoriya went to the west side of Hosu. There they stopped two muggings, three attempted rapes, and one attempted murder. At each site they called the cops with the persons phone and left 'REJECTS' spray painted on the wall.

Toga and Dabi went East and were a bit more chaotic. They stopped two attempted murders, three muggings, and one attempted rape. Toga may or may not have beat the rapist a little bit more than necessary. They left 'Rejects' spray painted on the wall, and Toga left a little smiley face next to it.

("what's with the smiley face?" Dabi asked.
"Fun, Obviously."
Dabi couldn't argue with that logic)

When they got home it was 1 am. Not that they would be asleep by then, but still. They celebrated their victories and headed off to Toga's room. She had stolen some snacks previously and picked out some movies for them to watch.

They were changing the world, one criminal at a time.
