The Takeover

Chapter Five

To say that Toga was excited would be the understatement of the century. Dabi had told them about Shoto Todoroki on plenty of different occasions. He was planning on breaking into the Todoroki household and kidnapping the boy for a little bit as well. They all knew that Todoroki was trained the same way that Dabi was, and that they had to get him out of that situation as best as possible. (Kidnapping wasn't the best way to handle it).

What they did not account for was the fact that Todoroki might come to them. They were ecstatic. That really makes taking down Endeavor a lot easier.

Toga welcomed him with open arms, and Dabi was still in a state of semi shock. That was understandable, this had been the first time that he saw his brother in years. He hated how tired his brother looked, and how much that tiredness resembled his own. 

They said that they should meet up, but didn't say why. They wanted Todoroki to be a surprise for the rest of them. They all knew about Dabi's siblings, and all knew that at some point they would need to save all of them.

They set up a meeting point, and waited. Shigiraki, Hitoshi, and Midoriya were a lot less energetic with their greeting. Todoroki could tell that they were all thankful of his existence. They were all smiling softly at him. 

Shigiraki was sending messages and Midoriya was reading them aloud. (Though, sometimes, he would refuse to read something.)

If you were to ask Sensei what they did at that meeting they would all tell him that they planned how Todoroki could help with the movement. That was always his main focus, the movement. What they wouldn't tell Sensei was how little they talked about the movement. It was mainly them bonding, and then them coming up with how Todoroki would help with the movement so that Sensei didn't get mad at them.

Sensei was happy when they got back. Another member of the team is exactly what he wanted. He didn't ask many questions. They decided that Todoroki would sleep in Dabi's room.

Their story for Shoto (he asked to not be called by his family name) was that they found him at the park and bonded well. They found out he was an orphan when they took him home, and decided to adopt him. He dyed his hair black and made sure that it covered his scar. His fake name was Denji.

His fake quirk was that he could regulate his body temperature a lot better than most. (When in intense heat, and in intense cold he is fine.) Which isn't exactly off, just not the full extent of his abilities. It was interesting training with him. They rarely used their quirks during training, so that they can show that quirks aren't everything.

Shoto was really good at hand to hand combat, but it was ingrained in his brain to use whatever advantages you have, so he tended to use his quirk a lot more in the beginning. 

A week after Shoto moved in, there was no news coverage anywhere. There wasn't even a sign that he was gone. Shoto and Dabi had expected this. After all, the same thing had happened when Dabi disappeared. 

"You okay?" Dabi walked up to Shoto in their room, and sat on the bed next to him. Toga and Midoriya were cuddling in Toga's room, and Shigiraki was playing Mario Kart with Hitoshi.

Dabi was met with silence. 

"If you want to talk about anything, just know that we are all there for you." Shoto nodded, and leaned into Dabi's side. Dabi felt horrible leaving Shoto behind. He apologized a lot during the first week, and Shoto had to continuously tell him that it was okay.

Still, Dabi knew that it wasn't.

They sat there for a while, and enjoyed each other's presence. This was how a lot of their time was spent together - comfortable silence. 

Shoto and Midoriya had grown really close as well, Dabi noticed. He didn't fully understand how, but something about Midoriya was just bright enough that Shoto would smile a bit more when Midoriya was around. Dabi decided not to say anything..... yet. 

That night, after dinner, and Sensei went off to wherever he went, they all headed back to the dining room together for their nightly Insomnia Squad meeting. 

"I... I need to tell you something..." Shigiraki was the one who spoke up. 

There was a short pause, where everyone diverted their attention to him.

"I understand if you see me differently for this, but I just need to let you know...." Shigiraki looked at his hands for a moment. 

"It wasn't an accident." 

"What?" Toga looked about as confused as everyone else. After a second a look of realization hit Midoriya's face.

"I.. I killed my father. He was an abusive asshole and he deserved what was coming to him. I will not apologize for what I did. I'm sorry that I didn't tell you the truth sooner." Shigiraki avoided their gazes and instead stared intently at the dining room floor. 

"Okay." Midoriya was the one who spoke up.

"Wha-?" Shigiraki was not expected a response like that.

"You were killing a man who abused you, that is completely fine. You are all probably planning on killing the faceless man, and I know for a fact that Toga has been secretly plotting Endeavors death since Dabi said that Endeavor was the way he is," Midoriya paused for a moment, "What I'm saying is that I don't care that much. You were protecting yourself from a future of pain. That is self defense." Dabi, Shoto, Toga, and Hitoshi all nodded. 

"You aren't going to kick me out?" Shigiraki asked hesitantly.

"No, we are not going to be kicking you out." Midoriya placed a hand on Shigiraki's shoulder and looked into his eyes. "We would never kick you out. This is your home as much as it is ours."

Shigiraki felt a wave of relief flood over him. He was okay.

Endeavor was pissed. His son was missing, and nowhere to be found. His successor who was going to beat All Might and become the number one hero was gone, and shortly after so did the rest of his children. He was pissed. He didn't get a single form of contact from any of his children, and all of a sudden they just up and vanish.

What was going on with the world?

Hey, I'm going to not be able to write for the next week, sorry. I still am going to write, I didn't abandon this fic. I still have plans for where this will go, I am just busy. Thank you for understanding. ALSO I want to recommend this book series that I read called the Illuminae Files. It takes place in space, and I cried.
