Chapter Seven

Hey, so I feel like my timeline is kinda slipping, so I just want to sort a few things out. One is that Midoriya and Bakugo are in 5th grade. And if y'all are like, "he's too mature" I want to tell you that by 5th grade I was contemplating the meaning of life, and my friend had already attempted suicide. Age means nothing.
Midoriya calls radio show is about a week before Aizawa texts him. His mom dies about a four days after that. They are with that dynamic for about two weeks, and then he meets the Kurogiri's. A few days later he tests Toga's quirk, and then he thinks his family is murdered. One day and a week later, Hitoshi helps save them and then they all leave, burning down the house behind them. Midoriya is like, "You all one family cause you my family." and everyone all, "sure." then they bond. After a week of some strong bonding, All for One says waddup and they pretend to die. The news thing is a week after that. Then the next week they begin patrols which happen about every other day for a few weeks. Shoto approaches them a week after patrolling and this takes place a week after that. I know it all happens in week intervals, but I am the God here and I do what I want, so there.

Riots were a pain in the ass for the police. There are the good police officer who are at the riot, and then the bad police who fire rubber bullets directly into the crowd, and release tear gas on unsuspecting victims.

Detective Tsukauchi hated the phrase 'Just a few bad apples'. Because the full saying isn't 'a few bad apples is fine' or 'a few bad apples does nothing'. The full phrase is 'A few bad apples spoils the lot'. The only issue is that if they were to get rid of all of the police officers with domestic abuse charges half of the police would be fired, and they were already very understaffed with the rise in villainous acts in the last month.

He and Aizawa agreed that the police need to take more action on how to be not terrible people. A lot of police officers believe that they are above the law, and they arrest anyone that they are even a little bit suspicious of.

They both agreed that the police are the second most likely to over value quirks and under value the people. They both agreed, so neither of them were very shocked when the Rejects released statements on all of the police officers in Musutafu, Hosu City, and Kyota. It released everything that the police department was keeping under wraps.

Protests began the next day. Hundreds of people all over were demanding that those people were fired from the police. They would rather be understaffed than to have people like that protecting them. They would feel no safer in their cities.

Aizawa didn't not agree. The police were under attack from all angles, and to a lot of people this was a good thing. The blue lives matter movement picked up again, and very few agreed. People chose to be police, they didn't chose to have their quirk.

Aizawa was sick and tired of having group jobs. He hated how political everyone was being, and how against the Rejects they were. They were all bad mouthing them, and talking about how their message is stupid.

"Quirkless are not discriminated against!" this was shouted by one Stopwatch. A tall blonde man in a steampunk costume- very impractical, in Aizawa's mind.

"My son." This was the first time that Aizawa had spoken since they left their meeting point.

"What?" The person beside him - Shimmer - seemed shocked.

"My son was bullied relentlessly, and injured enough to not only warrant a hospital visit, but cause him to believe that he was useless and deserved to die. Is that what you call regualar, Stopwatch?" Aizawa's voice slowly rose. They were just on a patrol, so they could be a little bit louder.

"I- um..." Stopwatch stood there stuttering.

"That's what I thought, and if any of you decide to make a stupid comment, don't." Aizawa sat on the edge of the building and looked around.

Atom sat down next to him after a second. Atom was able to manipulate how the atoms in anything worked. Aizawa tried not to think about how much Midoriya would love his quirk.

"I'm sorry about your son..." the phrase was a very common one nowadays. Aizawa was already tired of hearing it. He stayed silent.

"He would be proud of you, you know..." Atom stopped for a moment, "I met Midoriya."

Aizawa looked at Atom, startled.

"Present Mic brought him to my agency about a month ago. He had me sign his notebook and pestered me with questions. It was adorable, really. He asked me what it feels like to be such a known hero that gets pushed back onto the sidelines. I remember that because it's such a strange question. I may not have as many fans, but the few who do question me never ask me anything like that." Atom took another moment to gather his thoughts.

"He talked about you, too."

"He did?" He hadn't actually heard about any of the heroes that Hizashi took Midoriya to see, but he assumed that he would talk about the hero themselves.

"Yeah, he said that he watched you train sometimes and gave me some ideas to my training regime that I could use. He really looked up to you, you know. Said that you were his inspiration to become a hero in the future."

A new pain gripped at Aizawa's chest. He knew that Midoriya wanted to be a hero. Of course Midoriya wanted to be a hero, it was one of his main topics that he talked about. Still, Aizawa was taken aback by the fact that HE had been Midoriya's inspiration to be a hero. HIM.

He stared off into the night sky.

"Thank you."

-----------------------

The funeral was a quiet event. Bakugo was there, with his family, but they stayed silent. Midoriya was sitting on the floor in front of Hizashi, Aizawa, and Nemuri. He said he didn't want to be too far away from them.

People went up to talk, but Aizawa was too busy rubbing circle's on Midoriya's back to listen. Nemuri would whisper soothing words to him every once in a while, and Hizashi held Midoriya's hand in his. Lowering the casket was the worst part. They each put a shovel of dirt on top of the casket, saying words of love.

"I'm sorry..." Midoriya dumped the dirt onto the casket. "It should have been me..." He walked off, and grabbed Nemuri's hand, and they went home.

That night, Midoriya just went straight to bed, and didn't eat anything. They tried to coerce him out of his room, but nothing would work. The worlds that Midoriya said pounded in Aizawa's skull. It should have been me. Why did he think that?

They settled on slipping crackers underneath the door on a slip of paper.

Aizawa hated funerals.
